Supporting the Sunnyvale Community Services Holiday Center
Details
Sunnyvale Community Services is an independent, nonprofit emergency assistance agency. They are working to prevent homelessness, hunger, and untreated medical problems for low-income families and seniors facing temporary crises. Each month, bags of food are packed for distribution to hundreds of low-income families and seniors.
The Community Holiday Center affords families the dignity of selecting a supply of food, new gifts for infants through teens, and a gift for every household (towels, blankets, basic kitchen items). Volunteers move tons of food and supplies, sort food and toys, stock shelves, escort clients, accept and pick up donations, and staff the reception area.
WHAT: We will be helping out this year at the Community Holiday Center by restocking the tables with gifts and toys to make the Holiday Center look full and fresh for every family!
WHEN: Our shift is scheduled from 4:15pm-6:00pm. Please arrive on time and plan to stay for the entire shift.
Please remember to wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Comfortable, safe footwear is required: sneakers, work shoes, or boots. High heels, open-toed shoes, or sandals are not allowed. Also, dress in layers as you might work indoors and/or outdoors.
Please do not bring in purses or personal belongings because they do not have a secured storage space.
I look forward to seeing you all there!
NOTE: If you would like to bring a guest/friend, please have them sign up with their own account through Meetup. SVV events are for adults 18 years old and over only.
