Bintan Island is a phenomenal short weekend adventure destination because it eliminates the biggest buzzkill of a short trip: travel friction.
When you only have 48 hours to escape the city, you cannot afford to waste half a day waiting in airport security lines, dealing with flight delays, or enduring long drives from a tarmac to the wilderness. Bintan solves this by offering immediate, rugged transit that drops you straight into the action.

Why join us?
SANL, together with ZOOM Travel, we are the Bintan local expert. More exciting adventures are coming up. Stay tuned.

Bintan Island is rapidly evolving from a sleepy, luxury-resort weekend getaway into a premier adventure destination in Southeast Asia. Just a short 60-minute ferry ride from Singapore, it skips the tedious airport transit and drops you straight into rugged terrain, massive man-made playgrounds, and untamed natural ecosystems.
The "Adventure & Chill" Contrast
What makes Bintan uniquely attractive as an adventure destination is the infrastructure. You don't have to rough it out in the wild after a gruelling day of physical activity. You can spend the day covered in mud or sea salt, then recover in private pool villas, glamping under the stars at desert-themed resorts, or eating fresh seafood at a traditional Kelong (stilt house) restaurant.

What are we doing?
🔆 Mini Desert & Blue Lake
The Bintan Mini Desert (Gurun Pasir Busung) and Blue Lake (Telaga Biru) are two of Bintan Island’s most iconic and surreal natural attractions. Located side-by-side in the Busung area, this otherworldly landscape was actually formed by an abandoned bauxite mine. Over time, rain filled the mining pits, while minerals in the soil turned the water a striking, crystalline turquoise blue, surrounded by dramatic, rolling sand dunes that resemble a mini Sahara in the middle of a tropical island.

🔆 Summit Bintan Highest Peak: Gunung Bintan Besar
One of Bintan's hidden gems and oldest attractions, embark on a hiking adventure and be enthralled by nature's wonders.
A rewarding 2.6 km out-and-back trail through a protected tropical rainforest. Rising 336 metres above sea level, this trek offers a brief but physically challenging jungle workout. The entire experience takes 2 to 4 hours round-trip, depending on your fitness level, and offers a perfect nature escape from the nearby beach resorts.

  • Difficulty: Moderate. The trail is short but features a steep, continuous climb.
  • Terrain: Unpaved jungle floors with exposed tree roots, loose rocks, and muddy stretches. Fixed assist ropes are installed along the steepest sections to help you keep your balance.

🔆 Sunset Over The Mangroves
Cruising down the Sebong River during twilight is one of Bintan's most iconic natural experiences. As the day fades, the dense canopy of the mangrove roots transforms into a peaceful backdrop for the sunset. The ultimate way to experience this is that we combine this Sunset Mangrove cruise with a Fireflies tour.

🔆 Mangrove kayaking [morning] offers a far more immersive, quiet, and eco-friendly way to explore the island's famous waterways compared to a standard motorised speedboat tour. Paddling solo or in pairs allows you to manoeuvre into tight, shallow corners of the forest that boats cannot reach, putting you eye-to-eye with the local wildlife.

🔆 Coffee Plantation Tour, where you’ll learn about local bean-to-cup processes. A premier destination for an immersive coffee tour on Bintan.
In the plantation, you have time & option for:
ATV Ride @ Rp 500.000
Archery @ Rp 200.000
Air Softgun @ Rp 300.000
Archery Tag @ Rp 200.000
Paintball @ Rp 300.000

🔆 A trip to Bintan is absolutely incomplete without diving headfirst into the local food scene. Bintan’s cuisine is a spectacular mix of fresh Riau Archipelago seafood, aromatic Malay spices, and classic Indonesian-Chinese (Peranakan) comfort food.
