10+ Miles: George Pierce Park + Ivy Creek Greenway + Suwanee Creek Trail + Beer

Details

George Pierce Park :Is the largest park in Suwanee. It is a 304-acre park near the northern edge of the city. Included in the park are jogging and cycling paths, playgrounds, basketball courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, a pond and a senior learning center.
Suwanee Creek Greenway Trail:
The multi-use Suwanee Creek Greenway meanders 4 miles along Suwanee Creek
(a tributary of the Chattahoochee River) through forest and wetlands on a mostly hard (paved or boardwalk) surface. The greenway connects 400 acres of parkland with residential and commercial areas.
Ivy Creek Greenway:
the Ivy Creek Greenway is a 3.4-mile multi-use trail under construction in the cities of Buford and Suwanee. In 2014, a 1.5-mile section of the trail was added and includes two boardwalks, an overlook and a 270-foot cable bridge spanning Ivy Creek.

We will meet in front of the Community Center building ( of George Pierce Park) which is on your left after you enter the park.
From this parking lot we first will hike on the Red Trail and then on the Yellow Trail. We then continue to the Ivy Creek Greenway which would take us to the Suwanee Creek Trail all the way to the Suwanee Creek Park and return. I estimate this would be 10 to 10.5 miles all together.

After the hike I am planning to go to the StillFire Brewing which is less than one mile away. This place has a variety of beers and usually there is a food truck there too. Everyone is welcome to join.
