Play Disc Golf at Wills Park in Alpharetta

Details
Wills Park has a fun course. It has a very solid variety of shot shapes and quite a few holes have different routes you could try. It's considered short rather than long, a "technical" course, but it does have some holes that aren't all in the trees. The teepads are concrete and in good shape. There are bridges connecting some of the holes. (During the summer, be advised there is poison ivy on some holes.) On the downside, there is a creek that comes into play on half the holes. You can almost always see your disc and get it out, though. I will bring a disc grabber which helps in getting discs out of the water. Discatchers are all in fair to good shape.

About Disc golf:
• There 18 holes on most disc golf courses
• You throw a disc (like a Frisbee) from a tee area to start each hole ...The tee area can be a concrete pad or a grass area
• A group of disc golfers play a hole by taking turns throwing their first shot from the tee
• After the tee shots, the group advances to the disc of the person farthest way from the basket. That person throws, and the group advances to the next disc closest to the basket, and so on, until all players have "holed out" by throwing their discs into the basket.
• Discs vary just like golf clubs ...Distance or Fairway Drivers are designed for long shots ...Midrange discs are designed to be used for medium length shots ...Approach and Putt discs are for shots approaching or near the basket ...And some are all purpose discs
• A disc is the only equipment you need to play (PDGA approved discs are available at Dick's, Academy Sports, Sports Authority, Play It Again Sports, eBay, etc.)
• If you're going to buy discs, go for Innova, Prodigy, or Discraft. There are many videos on YouTube that show you how to grip the disc, how to step and throw, strategy, and what to throw.
To Bring:
• Golf discs if you have them (I have a few to lend out. Text me at nbr below.)
• Water of course. (A quart when its hot)
• Comfortable shoes and clothing as if you're hiking; like a flat 3 mile hike
• Snacks - if desired.
