Fort Yargo State Park is a 1,816-acre state park located in Winder, Georgia, situated between Athens and Atlanta. The park is located 1 mile south of Winder and is off of GA Route 81. There is a 260-acre lake with a public beach and several activities such as hiking, mountain biking, disc golf and boating are available at the park.

Fee: Fort Yargo State Park charges a $5 parking fee. You can also purchase an annual pass that is valid at all Georgia State Parks for $50.
Trails:
There are several color coded trails include Orange, yellow, Blue (and I guess Green) trails.

We will meet in front of the newly built Visitor Center; from here we start from the Blue trail and then continue on the yellow Trail to go around the lake. I estimate this would be around 6- miles. We will be walking at a comfortable pace 2.0- 2.5 not too slow, not too fast. A steady pace, to finish on time with water/snack breaks.
