The Hollywood Sculpture Garden is really a neat place . . . AND WE GET TO VISIT AND HAVE A SOCIAL THERE!!!

It's located on private property and not normally open to the public. So it is indeed a special thing for us to go.

Now . . . About this event: It is outdoors in a super-funky, pretty and cute location of The Hollywood Sculpture Garden.

This is intended as a "New To Meetup Mixer." Meaning if you are new to Meetup, or new to the group, been in the group for a while but not attended an event or even just new to the city, . . . then come.

A perfect way to meetup some quality people over some even better wine.

And very perfect if this is your first meetup ever!! Come join us.

Your ticket for entry is a dish or a drink. Bring anything that is good to share for serve 10 people. Or a nice bottle of wine, or dozen beers (if cheap beer), 6 pack of craft beer.

We will provide the tables, dishes, plastic-ware, cups, napkins, etc.

Yosemite is that amazing and iconic place that everyone loves to go.

March is the wettest month of the year. The MOST water from all the Waterfalls!!!! It will also be wildflowers!!!

What it will NOT be? It is NOT a designated holiday weekend . . . such as Memorial Day Weekend. As such . . . I am hoping to avoid those crowds or parking.

We have done Yosemite before on the group. And each and every time it fills up early with lotos of people with big sadness they can not go.
Plain and simple . . . our events have limited size. So when it fill . . . it fills.

There are Saturday/Sunday planned Easy, Medium and Hard Options. We will divide by interest for different hikes.

Tell me about food and everything else . . .
The logistics of providing food for every possible diet, as well as food prep issues is just not feasible or safe.
AND
Due to varied dietary needs and food contact issues, it's better if bring what you like and prep it.
Thus . . . you bring your own food. This way it is the food you like.

What gear do I need?
The only specialized gear you need is Tent, Sleeping bag, Sleeping Pad (yoga mat). Everything else is household items you already have.

Special note: this is Tent camping. No RV. No Trailers. No giant campervans.

Can I park my car next to my tent?
Sniffing tires, oil, exhaust and fuel? Yuck!!! You cars will be close. But not on top of us. Cars on one side. Humans on the other. If we overflow our parking area . . . there is an overflow parking area.

Carpools?

• Carpool info goes out ONLY to paid attendees. (it really sucks to set up a carpool with a person who is not actually going)
• Carpool info ONLY goes out to those who fill out the ATTENDEES/CARPOOL FORM (this way it is reliable info)
• Carpool info goes out all at once (not as you sign on)
• Carpool info goes out 1 week before the event. Too early and most carpools fall apart. It really sucks when your ride canceled at asked for a refund a month ago but did not tell you. Carpools info sent when it is stable of who is attending.
• Carpool in week before makes sense because that's when people can really determine schedule and departure time and availability.

Refunds?

• If requested 2 weeks before event start: 100% refund (less paypal fee)
• If requested less than 2 weeks: 100% Full Credit be applied to ANY future event we run.

Everest Base Camp Yoga Trek. Discover the land & people! An intimate Adventure.

This is definitely a bucket list type of trip. It embodies adventure and the romance of traveling to far off places. It is also tempered with safety and do-ability.
The actual dates are Apr 10-26, 2027 and the trip is 17 days/16 nights.

We have done this adventure three times already, in 2021, 2023 and 2025, and everybody had a blast! CLICK HERE to see attendee photos of the EBC trek

WE HAVE MADE CHANGES BASED UPON EXPERIENCE.

1. We are ADDING Yoga and Meditation, and a local expert TO BE WITH US to guide in Buddhist practice and local culture.
2. We are ADDING two days while going up to better acclimatize.
3. We are ADDING a HELLICOPTER FLIGHT from our highest camp back to start point AND REMOVING two days going down by taking the flight.

To clarify. We are NOT going up to the top of Everest (29,000’)
We are going to Everest Base Camp at 17,600’
Our starting elevation will be in Lukla at 9,400’

You need to be of average or better fitness. If you can manage walking 3-6 hours a day, up and down a hill while carrying a light daypack, you will be OK! If you are very fit and work out and train, you will be at the front.

Professional guides to lead, and Yaks to carry our gear are included. And a Yak Herder too!!

All that is left for us to carry is our water, snacks and camera.

But I don't have the needed gear?!
Sleeping bag and parka, rated to -10C are provided and walking poles too!

Does this include food?
All meals on the trek potion are included.

What is lodging like?
We are sleeping in a series of "Tea Houses" along the route. You will have a bed in a shared room with roommate (from the group). Sorry, a solo room will not be available on this trip. We will pair up everybody.

How dangerous is this? What if I get sick or hurt?
This is NOT the summiting Everest with people dying from bad choices. We will be walking on an established, well used trail the entire time, and NOT on snow or ice. Stats from past years show that 30,000 people a year do the EBC Trek. With all that said, . . . our trip INCLUDES emergency insurance. We are also Certified Wilderness First Responders.
Plain and simple, safety is our primary goal. We will have an experienced guide and porters, and we will be along the entire way.

How much does this cost?
Everest Base Camp Trip $3750 - 17 Days, land only (airfare not included)
For this trip we don’t offer single occupancy and we match you with a roommate if you don't have one.

We might be able to organize a group airfare from Los Angeles (LAX):**
