Hello all! It's been a while since we got together in person. We're scheduling an in person event on Wednesday, April 12th 2023. Hope you can make it out.

Free parking across the street at the Irvine Spectrum. Please park at the free structure at Irvine spectrum*.* Do NOT park at the office park.

### Event-Based Architecture in the Cloud

Summary: This session will take a deep dive into event-driven architecture patterns, recommended practices, and pitfalls. We will cover uses cases, real-life scenarios and provide demos that highlight the challenges with distributed systems that are event-driven and scalable on Azure.

# Speakers: David Barkol and Lynn Orrell

David Barkol is an Azure Architect on the Global Black Belt team. He focuses on application development, messaging, serverless technologies and other interesting solutions.

Lynn Orrell is a Principal Specialist on the App Innovation Global Black Belt Team at Microsoft. He has over 25 years of experience in technology and focuses on distributed systems, event driven architectures and cloud native application development. Lynn lives in Oklahoma with his wife Shellie and their 3 dogs. When he's not helping customers solve complex computing problems, he can be found on the ski slopes with his oldest daughter or watching his youngest daughter play college basketball.
