This is a group for all those who have the desire to travel near and far and have fun making new friends whilst doing so. The aim of this group is to put up a varied selection of holidays and short breaks to suit all individuals and pocket. I enjoy putting trips together in a cost effective way, why pay more joining a tour when you can do the same at a fraction of the cost. There is no doubt that certain places do need a proper organised guide but why not find a good price by booking just that little bit early. As a member of this group you are all most welcome to make suggestions for any trip you think may be of interest to others. It would be nice to get to know other members on a regular basis so that we are not total strangers when we decide to travel together, therefore, we shall have a monthly get together for drinks. This is why I have named this group the 50+ Social Travellers.

The events manager at the Hayleyford Golf Club approached us saying they have members who are lonely so they are also wishing to help them which is very commendable.
We will have 8 tables of 6 sitting man, woman, man, woman. Arrival will be 6.45pm to check in collect a drink and be ready to sit at 7.15pm when the food will be served to the tables. This will be buffet style on sharing platters:
-chicken satay skewers
- lamb kofta kebabs
- samosas & onion bhajis
- assorted sandwiches
-fruit platter

Just to say that the 24 female places will book very quickly for this event.
I'd imagine that even the male places will book fairly fast too.
Please be aware that it it will be smart dress code only as even the venue ask for this dress code. It is now going to be the dress code for all of our dining speed dating events as it would be nice to see the men making the effort too and not just the ladies.Minimum dress code for men will be a suit style shirt (no polo tops or t-shirts) and smart trousers (no jeans) plus smart shoes (no trainers).

Speed dating means you get to speak to everyone attending and combined with eating together in a group of six on the table makes the whole experience a lot more relaxed.
When you book for this event we will need you to text full name, year of birth plus area you live to

We have 2 sharing platters and a large pizza on each table.
We will ask the men to move tables every 15 minutes. The whole dating experience will take 2.5 hours maximum as we ask you to arrive at 7pm to sit down at 7.30pm. Please do not book if you are not confident you can arrive by 7pm.We will have places saying man, woman, man, woman so when the first 3 ladies and 3 men arrive within one of the age ranges we can ask you to sit once you have purchased your drink at the bar and visited the rest rooms. There won't be any whistle blowing. We will ask the three men on each table of six to move to the next numbered table when we reach 15 minutes. This means there will be 7 moves after sitting to have sat on all 8 tables. The men take their plate with them as it is the same food on every table.
At 9.30pm when the dating/dining has finished you can all carry on socialising at the bar.
This is a good time to get back together with anyone you liked in particular and exchange numbers or if you found it hard to chat to the other man/woman across the tables who wasn't sitting beside you. You can also pass messages via us after the event if you can remember the first name and area the person lives. Just make out a text saying something to remind them who you are and add your name and your mobile at the end of the message and I can forward this on for you if you can remember the first name and area the person lives might help.THE FOOD ON EACH TABLE WILL BE:

Regarding The Holiday Club Idea
A lady attended our quiz night last week and was chatting to a friend of mine. They were talking about wanting to go on holiday but they didn't want to go on their own. If this is your situation please text me on 07948 417416 with full name and area you live. Please say it is about the holiday club.
I thought I could form a WhatsApp group which would include both sexes. Please be aware though guys that this is not a dating App so it isn't to message ladies direct to ask them out if you just have their number in the group. You need to meet them and then maybe suggest exchanging numbers in person if there seems to be a mutual connection between you both. The idea of this WhatsApp Holiday Club group is for you to message in the group with destination suggestions and maybe you could have a social where you all get together to discuss arrangements and break the ice before you go away.
We are suggesting maybe getting away together this Christmas or the first two weeks of July in 2026. This is before the children break up after this time and the prices should be cheaper as not the peak holiday time.I am not arranging the holiday by the way. This is for members to do amongst themselves via the WhatsApp Holiday Club.
I think this could be a good idea for members. We already have two ladies to launch the group.
