OpenTelemetry is a widely-adopted software project that provides a vendor-agnostic solution for Metrics, Traces, and Logs in your environments.

• Hands-on experience manipulating an OpenTelemetry environment
• Challenges and trade-offs using OpenTelemetry in Production; Why you might not want to use it.

Who is Teaching?

Alex Wise is a Systems Safety nerd who keeps websites running for a day job. An important part of keeping systems running is being able to observe how they are behaving, and OpenTelemetry helps him.
