San Rafael Canal Coastal SUP Clean Up

Come help us clean up the San Rafael Canal for Coastal Clean-up day. 101 Surf Sports is hosting a water-based cleanup of San Rafael Creek and the Bay on Saturday. September 23rd from 9 a.m. to Noon and is offering a free kayak or SUP rental to anyone who participates.

This sensitive creek area provides habitat for birds and other wildlife and serves as our beautiful backyard playground for our community. So come play with us as we clean up and make some new life-long friends along the way.

This project is hosted by 101 Surf Sports in partnership with the City of San Rafael Volunteer Program and the number of volunteers is limited, so please be sure to call in advance to register. Note that RSVP'ing here does not register you for the event; it just lets the group know that you are attending so they can look out for you at the event so they can introduce themselves.

Details:
• Register for the event by calling 101 Surf Sports at 415-524-8492 or send an email to info@101surfsports.com before Friday, September 22nd.
• Meet on Saturday at 101 Surf Shop at 9:00 a.m. at 115 Third Street in San Rafael. There’s parking out front. (If you are not bringing your own board or kayak and are taking advantage of their free rental offer, please arrive by 8:30 so they can help you choose the best fit for your level of expertise).
• 101 Sports will provide trash bags, gloves, and litter sticks.
• Don't forget to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, sun hat, and water shoes if you like to use them for your water-based activities. You may want to also put a change of clothes in your car just in case. They do have a shower there to clean-up afterward if you end up getting wetter or dirtier than anticipated.
• Clean up begins at 9 a.m.
• Event will end by Noon.
