
What we’re about
We are a diverse, inclusive and welcoming group of adults 21+ of any identity dining out at restaurants across the South Shore. Please include your first name a clear profile pic and take a few minutes to answer the profile questions to enable us to easily find you at events, learn a little about you ahead of time, and have some potential convo starters. We are open to new members. We are looking forward to having you join us and meetup with us in the near future.
The SSDOMG has hosted nearly 300 events while dining at over 260 restaurants across the south shore since August 2006. Over 1,400 adults have been members of our group with over 300 attending at least 3 events, over 150 attending at least 5 events, and over 50 attending at least 10 events. Many friendships have been formed and favorite restaurants discovered!!!
We broadly define the South Shore as south of Boston along within and abutting Routes 3, 18, 24, and 95 with Route 44 as our 'lower border' for lack of a better term. However, once in awhile we do expand our wings to points further south and southwest. Our Event Descriptions have all the info you need to enable you to join us at the table. Attend an SSDOMG event to eat out for every dining occasion. Discover new restaurants, enjoy delicious meals and make satisfying conversation with friendly dining companions. If you are interested in joining the SSDOMG, please answer all Profile questions. Upon approval, please log-in and RSVP to any Meetups already scheduled on the calendar. Please be advised that we only approve individuals as we do have members only events. Therefore, couples will be declined and asked to join individually.
In order to join the SSDOMG you must have a clear profile photo and a legible first name (not a bunch of letters or words) in order to be approved to join the group. This is so we have a face to put with the name and a name that we can (hopefully) pronounce tp provide a positive welcoming warm and fun experience dining out for all.
Cash Only Policy ~ We have had a Cash Only policy since Day 1 as it's easier to handle the bill. Please be sure to have a couple of bills smaller than $20s. Sometimes a restaurant will provide separate checks, in which case you can use a credit card. Our event fees are $2 payable in cash, small bills (think $1s and $5s) only please.
No Show Policy ~ We like to treat others the way we would like to be treated and expect you to update your RSVP prior to the RSVP Deadline if you are no longer able to attend. It's simple common courtesy. You can read more about our No-Show Policy on our About Pages and soon in the Message Boards under the More tab.
As the purpose of the SSDOMG and Meetup is to actually meetup we request you please attend your first event within two years of joining. Those who joined prior to mid-2024 will have about three years. This is a new policy that went into effect in 2024 and has been (and is being) communicated several times.

Join us for a Saturday evening leisurely meal and ice cream outside! We will be dining at Seafood & Cones on Route 138 in Raynham which has both a covered and enclosed outdoor seating area as well as a covered picnic-style eating area. When we were here last summer they had some lawn games which a couple of us participated in. We order and pick-up at the window. They have both food, with a focus on seafood, and ice cream! Enjoy one or the other or both! Let's enjoy a fun Summer Saturday Night socializing!
We will meet at the outdoor tables, which are behind the building. Exact set of tables tbd based on the weather and availability. I will make that decision and you will be able to find me along with our Meetup tabletop tent sign. Once most of us have arrived or about 10 minutes after our event start time we will do introductions and then start sending attendees up to place their orders. We will rotate through everyone, as soon as 2 people come back then 2 more will go order, ensuring we have 3 people at our tables at all times and our food all comes out around the same time. (ie If there are 12 of us, 8 will go up. When 2 comes back 2 more will go up. When the next 2 come back the last 2 will go up.)
Seeking a volunteer Greeter to help me out tonight! Only requirements are to have attended 2 events, including one in 2025, and to correspond with me regarding arrival. If you tend to arrive early this may be a super easy volunteer gig.
Inclement Weather Date: TBD on a Saturday in August. I'll do my best to make the decision the day prior or that morning to reschedule. I will simply change the date and everything else, icluding all RSVPs, will automatically be retained. Please RSVP based on good weather.~~~~~

- Wednesday Night Food Truck Show!!Braintree Playground (Adjacent), Braintree, MA
Join members and guests in my hometown of Braintree for the Wednesday Night Food Truck Show! There is a variety of food trucks from which you can choose from. You will be paying your own way by paying the individual food truck. The food truck show usually has some form of musical entertainment.
Let's grab some food from your food truck of choice, share our thougths on our food and enjoy an evening dining and socializing outside.
Meeting Place may be a little tricky. Look for me/us near an info both, which is adjacent to the parking lot or LollyJolly Waffles or Mom on the Go. We will then find a place for us to sit and set-up our chairs. This way we can go order and get food as we please. One of us will most likely be holding the meetup sign. Once we find a place to sit we will do our best to post it on the event wall. (My chair will be 'strapped' to my back like a backpack. This could make it easier to find me/us, at least until we find a seating area. AM Lisa came up with a clever idea to have the meetup sign hanging out of a pocket on the back of my chair when it's set-up and open/in use. I will try that again.)
While the Food Truck Show is 4:30-7:30pm, we will be meeting between 5:45-6 and staying till between 7:15-7:30.

South Street is off of Route 37 in the Braintree Highlands, about 1/2 mi from the Holbrook line.Parking: Free parking on site. The lot is small. Therefore, you may need to park on South Street or a neighborhood street. Please be aware that it may take a minute to find parking.
