Welcome to Northeast Hikes with Big Views!
This group is for hikers who crave a challenge.
We focus on moderate-to-strenuous hikes across Connecticut and the Hudson Valley, NY. Routes may include significant elevation gain, rock scrambles, fire towers, and scenic viewpoints over rivers, valleys, and ridgelines—especially when conditions cooperate.
From time to time, we’ll also plan special destination hikes when something truly memorable comes up.
This group is best suited for experienced hikers who are comfortable with a steady, purposeful pace. If you enjoy pushing your limits and appreciate those “wow” moments when they come, you’ll fit right in.
What to expect:
• Hikes rated moderate to hard (with clear details on distance, elevation gain, and difficulty)
• A strong focus on safety, preparedness, and Leave No Trace principles
• Respectful trail etiquette and a supportive, positive group atmosphere
