What we’re about
Startup Oasis is a BYOB hackathon community (startup founders bring in their startup to pitch, they get a breakout room and you can then work with them like a hackathon). This community is for startup founders, developers, investors, marketers, and anyone else in the startup ecosystem that wants to start a business, help a founder, or join a business.
We meet in person on monthly basis, and we also meet virtually every quarter for our global hackathon! Each event is the same format: Doors open and there is open networking. Founders sign up to pitch their businesses, then the event functions like a pitch competition - except no judges, no winners, nor lengthy feedback. The goal is to get everyone into breakout groups as soon as possible. During the pitches, the founders tell us their biggest needs. After the last pitch, the hackathon starts. Founders get their own breakout groups, and you can help the founders based on their needs. You can move between groups and talk about strategies and tactics. People have been able to start a business as a result of these hackathons!

Startup Oasis 2024 Global Meetup - we are celebrating our 2 year anniversary mark during this event!
If you are a startup founder or anyone else in the tech ecosystem looking to start, join, or help a tech startup, this event is for you!
5 - 8 startup founders pitch their business or concept to the audience like on Shark Tank. After the last pitch, each founder gets a breakout group. Those in the audience can join a founder's breakout room to continue building, workshopping, and/or onboarding the startup similar to a hackathon.
If you are a Founder and you come away with teammates, DO NOT LET IT GO TO WASTE. This windfall of resources may change your perspective, but remember you were just in the desert, trying to find human capital. Schedule weekly benchmark calls, keep them excited about the vision, be open to input, and celebrate small wins.
This is a brand-new type of structure that has never existed before, and there is so much direct value for all parties.
Agenda:
3:00 PM EST - Doors Open - Virtual Networking 1 on 13:20 - Founders Pitch
3:45 onward - Founders break off into break-out rooms and attendees can move around and help one for the remainder of the time to join or help their startup, similar to a hackathon. There is also a networking tab for other attendees to network with each other 1 on 1.
Startup Oasis was created to pierce the illusion of accessibility of startups and tech by creating a grassroots forum for early-stage founders to pitch to those in the tech ecosystem to get real-time feedback for their idea or business.
