What we’re about
Welcome to Startup Oasis!
Startup Oasis is a BYOB hackathon community (startup founders bring in their startup to pitch, then they get a breakout room and you can then work with them like a hackathon). This community is for startup founders, developers, investors, marketers, and anyone else in the startup ecosystem that wants to start a business, help a founder, or join a business.
We meet in person and virtually on a regular basis. Each event is the same format: we start with the introduction of the process at the beginning. Founders sign up to pitch their businesses, then the event functions like a pitch competition - except no judges, no winners, nor lengthy feedback. The goal is to get everyone into breakout groups as soon as possible. During the pitches, the founders tell us their biggest needs. After the last pitch, the hackathon starts. Founders get their own breakout groups, and you can help the founders based on their needs. You can move between groups and talk about strategies and tactics. People have been able to start a business as a result of these hackathons!
Our events are free to attend. If you would like to donate to support the community, you can do so through Pledge below.

Get Feedback for Your Startup Pitch
OnlineWelcome to Startup Pitch Lab!
Are you looking to improve your pitch for your startup or give another founder feedback for their pitch? Then you've come to the right place!
Founders will be able to give a one-minute pitch to the group, then immediately head to a breakout room for a small group mastermind around their pitch. Pitch, Feedback, Mastermind!Agenda:
Intros: During the first 10 minutes, we will give you the history, structure, and future plans of Startup Oasis and open signups for founders who want to pitch their startups.PitchPartner Pitches: Each founder will then get up to 5 minutes to pitch their startup on PitchPartner, our free tool to give you comprehensive feedback for your pitch in the quickest way possible. You'll use this feedback to help drive the discussion in the breakouts and improve your pitch for our classic events. This format is recommended: name, business, the problem, your solution, target customer base, and your biggest challenge/current need.
Breakout Groups: Then, each founder will have a chance to give a 1-minute abbreviated pitch to the group and join a breakout group immediately after their pitch for a small group mastermind for the remainder of the event. The pitch format above is strongly recommended here, or we suggest letting the group know your biggest need in improving your pitch (you can use data from PitchPartner).

Agencies, consultants, coaches, and nonprofits are not eligible to pitch, but you can still watch the pitches and join the breakouts.
What happens after the pitches? The breakout groups open for the remainder of the event. Each founder gets a breakout room, and you can talk more about their business and needs with them.
Is this event recorded? No. We will also not allow any participants to record nor grant permissions to AI assistants to record. This is to maintain the efficiency of the event and and privacy of the pitches.
Can I invite other people that I know? Yes - please have them RSVP here or on the LinkedIn event listing.
How do I get the most out of this event?
- Founders - In this event, no money is awarded nor are any winners named. We are not here to critique your pitch, just to help you find teammates, cofounders, and feedback from other professionals. Make sure your pitch is 3 minutes or less and clear about what your biggest needs are.
- Attendees - If you are new to startups and tech, feel free to just watch with no pressure to participate. If you are looking to join a startup or find a side project, make sure you take notes during the pitches to join the group of the founder that you're most interested in helping. Most founders need help with either developing the product or with a go-to-market strategy.
Do we meet in person? We do this event in Atlanta, GA each month. We plan to come back to SF for TechCrunch Disrupt for the 3rd year to host this event during that week at the end of October. If you'd like to help us organize, please let us know!
