Welcome to Steel City RPG!
We host RPG events in locations across Pittsburgh for those who share a passion for Role-Playing Games, Sci-Fi, or slaying Dragons in Dungeons. We are a new group working to provide a safe and welcoming environment for public game nights featuring a variety of TTRPGs.

RPG Game Day Brookline / Halfling's Hideout
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USJoin us Sunday for a Tabletop RPG Game Day at Halfling's Hideout in Brookline, Pittsburgh.
Whether you've never touched a d20 or you've been rolling dice for years, you've got a seat at the table. Our GMs run standalone one-shots across a mix of systems — D&D, indie games, narrative RPGs, and whatever they're most excited to bring. No experience required. Pre-generated characters are available for most games.
Halfling's Hideout is a tabletop specialty shop with dedicated table space and terrain available for GMs who want to add some flair to their sessions. Snacks and drinks are available in-store, and outside food is welcome. The neighborhood has great options nearby: Las Palmas for tacos and Pitaland for gyros from a local Greek bakery, plus bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Games kick off around noon and run 4–6 hours depending on the GM. Arrive at 12:00 to meet your table, grab snacks from the shop, and get settled before play begins.- RSVP here to let us know you're coming.
- Browse the individual game listings — added as GMs submit their sessions.
- Sign up for the game you want. That's the signup that matters.
- Show up ready to play.
If a game is full, join the waitlist and still show up. No-shows happen, and spots open more than you'd think. No guarantees, but it's worth being there.
Already RSVP'd but can't make it? Update your Meetup attendance as soon as you know. It takes 10 seconds and means someone on the waitlist gets to play.

Want to run a game?
This event is community-run. If you've got a system you love or a one-shot you've been wanting to run, we want to hear from you. One-shots, mini-campaigns, system demos — whatever you're excited to bring. Terrain is available on-site if you want to use it; just let us know ahead of time.

D&D BECMI/ I6: Ravenloft / Brookline RPG Day
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USThe Curse of Strahd is one of the most iconic adventures in 5E, but it wasn't first.
The original I6: Ravenloft is a classic module with a legendary story and villian. However, it was still at its core, a dungeon crawl. The original wasn't intended as a long campaign, it was expected to be a single long session or a weekend. We're going to cut it down even further, and try to kill Strahd before the end of Game Day. So even then, some things are going to get cut for time. While the original I6 was intended for AD&D 1st edition, this is going to be even further back. This TSR module running on the 1983 rules that shaped everything that came after. BECMI strips the game to its essentials: exploration, resource pressure, and a dungeon that will absolutely kill your character if you give it the chance. Gold earns experience. Torches burn down. Death is fast and not particularly dramatic.
Character creation happens at the table — no prep, no backstory required, no attachment recommended. The format runs comfortably at larger table sizes, so bring whoever you want.

No experience needed. The rules are light enough to learn in five minutes. The dungeon, however, does not offer a tutorial.

Under the Harvest Moon is a Wanderhome one-shot, a cozy, diceless story game about traveling animalfolk. There's no monster to slay and no dungeon to clear. The whole table shapes the story together.
Amber skies stretch over bare trees as the town gathers to celebrate the harvest under lantern light and a full moon. You arrive as travelers on a haybale-lined road, ready for a night of celebration, old stories, and the people you meet along the way.Collaborative storytelling, roleplay-heavy, diceless, no prior experience needed.
Pull up a seat by the fire. Stay a while.No experience with Wanderhome or RPGs required. Characters come partly prepared, and you'll make a few final choices at the table.

Those are the words of the scientist you've been tasked with bringing in. He's known for pushing the bounds of science, and today he pushed too far.
This Star Wars one-shot, run on the Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying system, puts you in the boots of bounty hunters on a zombie-themed horror job. Bringing him in is the contract. What he's been working on is the problem.
