What we’re about
This group is for those who are dating, living with or married to someone with children, whether you have children or not.
This group is a dynamic group of couples/stepcouples who are looking to find real solutions to the real dilemmas they find themselves in when it comes to trying to combine family members who are not biologically related together.
I'm a family therapist who’s been working with step couples and stepfamilies for Over 15 years. I have a local practice in Boulder, Colorado and work all the country and internationally through Skype, Facetime or Vees with stepcouples, stepparents, and those who are dating one with children (whether they have their own or not). There is a high divorce rate for those in remarriages that involve children (anywhere from 65-74%). Divorce is not inevitable. Couples need support and education to know what works best in stepfamilies and what doesn't, based on research and clinical experience. The group meets once a month and gives both partners new insights, tools, and support that will best support their marriage and/or partnership. There is a $35/couple fee for the Meet Up when members can attend.
I write about the challenges of stepcouples, stepfamilies and stepmoms (or those dating or living with one who has children) for Huffington Post and Stepmom Magazine.
The meetup group is held alternatively in Boulder and Denver.
