Hike, Wine Tasting, and Lunch at Monserate Vineyards in Fallbrook

Join Sunrise to Sunset friends to explore one of the newest and most beautiful winery / vineyards in Southern California.

ABOUT THE HIKE: We meetup for the hike at 11 am, as the winery opens for tasting and lunch. The hike is a scenic, advanced beginner, one plus hour, two mile loop hike on single track trails and gravel roads in the hills around and through the Monserate Vineyard and Winery. While this is a relatively short beginner hike, the trail does wind through steep rolling hills providing scenic vistas of the vineyards and some moderate exercise. The hike is "advanced" beginner because of the hills.

FOLLOWING THE HIKE: We will return to the winery's tasting room where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a full flight tasting. There are limited luncheon items available with both indoor and patio seating. The tasting room is open to the public as a walk in without a reservation required. Depending on the group size, we will attempt to secure a restaurant reservation for group seating on the patio with a more extensive menu.

"Monserate Winery began with a desire to preserve the beauty and integrity of Gird Valley. For 56 years, the beautiful 116-acre property was a public golf course, dotted with 100-year-old oaks and towering sycamore trees. After falling on hard times, the golf course closed. We had a vision to revitalize the land and create something incredible that would also enrich the lives of the surrounding community, and thus, Monserate Winery was born. We have been hard at work to bring this vision to life since 2016 and have made a lot of progress. Today, Monserate Winery boasts breathtaking vineyards, tranquil lakes and spectacular scenery."

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From Orange County, take the San Diego Freeway south.... take Hwy 76 east.... take Gird Road north.... turn left into the winery parking lot. We meetup at the entrance with restrooms available inside.
