TrainDay2LA

Details
Join us for a one-of-a-kind TrainDay2LA adventure! We’ll meet at Irvine Metrolink Station (15215 Barranca Pkwy, Irvine, CA 92618) on Platform 1 near the north end (cross the bridge to the far side), ready to board the 9:21 AM Metrolink OC Line 1661. We’re headed to a unique spot in the Los Angeles area, where we’ll enjoy a day of urban exploration, take in great views, and leave room for a bit of mystery—unexpected discoveries will be part of the fun.
Expect a day of curious wandering, street-level adventures, and great company. We’ll likely walk about 5 miles (or more, depending on how adventurous we get). We may use the Metro—but otherwise, this is an urban walking exploration. We’ll grab lunch on the trip at a local spot, or you can bring your own to enjoy along the way. After a day of fun, we’ll catch the 4:27 PM OC Line 1668 back to Irvine, arriving at 5:36 PM, with stories to tell and pictures to share.
I once asked a Metrolink conductor, as we watched a late passenger sprinting across the bridge, “Are you going to wait?” He checked his watch and said, “Everyone waits for the train. The train waits for no one.” The runner made it aboard just as the doors closed—and we were gone. So please arrive early.

TrainDay2LA — Important Info
· This is an urban hike, not a guided tour. We’re just a bunch of curious folks exploring LA’s hidden gems by train and on foot — and that can include all sorts of big-city sights and surprises. The hike is mostly hard flat surfaces, may include dirt paths, with some hills and stairs along the way.
· Restroom access is limited. I don’t schedule bathroom stops, but when I see a public restroom, I’ll usually let the group know. Some routes may have few or no obvious bathrooms for long stretches. There are Bathrooms at Irvine Station, on the train and at LA Union Station. If frequent bathroom breaks are essential, this may not be the right outing for you.
· There is no sweep (nobody bringing up the rear), so stay together and follow the leader to avoid getting separated.
