Lake Forest & MV - horse & walking trails! Int. diff. 5 miles.

Details

ABOUT THE HIKE:
This is a semi-urban hike which loops on some neighborhood green spaces, sidewalks, bike paths, horse trails and city wilderness paths - all within the city of Lake Forest. The net elevation is a total of maybe 300 ft.
We will begin in a neighborhood street, just outside the private tennis courts located at Countryside Dr. - at Normandale. We take essentially a horse trail loop which connects to Montbury street and park. We will take the Aliso Bike Trail, on El Toro, and head to Pebble Creek Park which will lead to a segment of Wilderness Glen Park and then we will continue for a few yards on Los Alisos to near the Trabuco Hills High School where we will comb through an adjoining neighborhood to El Toro and then back to our point of origin at Countryside and Normandale. Just about 5 miles in all.

It's always good to wear sturdy shoes with good grip as we will be doing dirt and hard surfaces. A walking stick is not a must but there are a couple of short hills on dirt. As always, bring plenty of water and a snack.

There are *NO* available bathrooms along the route!

Pets are welcome! :)

DIRECTIONS:
From 5 fwy, exit El Toro Rd and head east for 4.25 miles to the lighted intersection of El Toro and Normandale. Turn left (north) at the light and the first neighborhood street is Countryside. The tennis courts are on the right and there is free ample street parking.
