About us
SWFL Makers Guild is a community for creators, builders, tinkerers, artists, craftspeople, and lifelong learners throughout Southwest Florida.
Our members may be interested in skills like electronics, programming, robotics, 3D printing, prototyping, metalworking, woodworking, sculpting, leatherworking, sewing, cosplay, miniature painting, modelmaking, and many other creative or technical pursuits. You do not need to be an expert or have a finished project to participate. Curiosity and a willingness to learn, share, and collaborate are what matter most.
We host gatherings where members can:
- Share projects, ideas, and works in progress
- Learn skills from one another
- Demonstrate tools, techniques, and creative processes
- Collaborate on individual and community projects
- Meet others with complementary skills and interests
- Help shape the future of the Guild
SWFL Makers Guild is not intended to belong to one person or represent only one type of making. We want members to have a voice in determining what the Guild becomes, which resources it develops, and how it can best serve the creative community of Southwest Florida.
Whether you work with code, circuits, wood, metal, fabric, clay, leather, paint, or a combination of them all, you are welcome here.

The Bay Kava Cafe | Punta Gorda, 318 S Tamiami Trl #111, Punta Gorda, FL, USJoin us for the first SWFL Makers Guild meetup in Punta Gorda!
We’ll be meeting at The Bay Kava Cafe in Punta Gorda, Florida, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 23, 2026.It has been about a year since our last gathering, and we’re excited to bring everyone together again for a casual Show & Tell. This is a chance to meet other local makers, see what people have been working on, and learn more about the different interests and skills within our community.
Have something you’ve made? Bring it along and tell us about it! Finished projects, works in progress, prototypes, experiments, repairs, and even projects that didn’t turn out as planned are all welcome.
Projects can be creative, technical, or anything in between. That might include electronics, programming, 3D printing, woodworking, metalworking, sculpting, leatherworking, sewing, cosplay, miniature painting, modelmaking, art, crafts, and much more.
A projector will be available for anyone who would like to share their screen, show photos, or look up information related to their project. Please have anything you would like to display available on a USB drive, posted somewhere publicly accessible online, or sent to the group through Discord ahead of time.
You do not need to be an expert, and you do not need to bring a project to attend. You’re welcome to come by, meet new people, ask questions, share ideas, and get inspired.
We’ll have light snacks such as chips, cookies, and other finger foods. You’re also welcome to bring a snack to share, but there’s no obligation.
