This is a weekly 60-minute introduction to advance tai chi session open to all adults of any age and any health condition. If you can walk up and join us you can do what we are doing. You do not need to know any tai chi, if you do great if not just know we are a new member-friendly tai chi for health and wellness program.
During each weekly session, there will be three sections of training. Tai Chi Form refers to one of the 24 individual positions you will begin learning. You will learn 3-4 Forms each week. You don't need any skills to get started, just show up with a smile. We practice safe distancing and we wear masks based on local requirements.
You can join in at any time.
- During this tai chi session, we first conduct a mental warm-up exercise called Relax and Welcome the Day. Then we conduct a Qigong exercise to get physically warmed up. After that, we complete the Yang Style 24 Form. You will apply what you know and have learned, or simply follow and copy what you see everyone else doing until you can do it on your own.
- We do the complete form twice, After the second session, we break into teaching groups based on level and you learn in small increments over time the entire Yang Style 24 Form.
- This will be easy enough to get you doing a little Tai Chi immediately, and learning the entire 24 Form in 6-8 weeks. But you will begin benefiting from Tai Chi on your first day.
