Tai Chi in the Park is Back! (with social distancing)
It's time to resume our world famous, free Tai Chi class in the park. You've all been practicing long enough on your own, so Dr. Hoover is coming out to inspect how much you've been practicing during the stay-at-home order. Haha really though, now that the state of California and county of Los Angeles are opening back, so shall we.
According to LA County's COVID-19 website which can be found here: "Outdoor parks and recreational facilities are open provided all activities adhere to distancing and infection control protocols"
Check out the latest recommendations for parks and recs here: https://covid19.lacounty.gov/recovery-recreation-outdoor-spaces/
You can find out the latest updates about our Free weekly class that's resuming next Sunday June 7, at 9:30am at Heartwell Park (by the lake) at our SOHMA website or our meetup page located below:

In the interest of our diverse Tai Chi community, many of which are considered in the vulnerable category to COVID-19, and the safety of the greater community in which we all live, we will strictly adhere to social distancing until the official safety measures are relaxed further.
Please do not come to class if you feel you may pose a risk to others because of recent travel, you have a fever, cough, or any other COVID-19 symptoms. We will have a contactless infrared thermometer available onsite to inspect for fever.
If you are on the fence about coming, remember that since it's Tai Chi class, people will be approaching you in SLOW MOTION, so you'll have plenty of time to safely social distance yourself away!
Call or email with any questions or concerns. We miss you and look forward to seeing you getting outside, getting sunshine, and safely exercising with us.
We are teaching and practicing Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan form set 24. This is the Chinese national workout, as well as the most popular Tai Chi style practiced worldwide.
This class is great for beginners as well as for people with Tai Chi Chuan experience. This is a FREE community service class. Everyone is welcome including children and seniors.
Our class was featured on CNN! Click on the link to view (1:36 min length) https://www.cnn.com/videos/health/2017/08/25/tai-chi-millennials.cnn

Also, we are teaching Tai Chi Chuan weapons forms including sword and fan. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes. Practicing barefoot is optional for those that want to strengthen their connection/ground to the Earth.
