About us
A casual table for mid-career people in tech to talk about work and careers over coffee. There are no speakers, slides or a set agenda.
We generally meet twice a month (usually 1st and 3rd Sundays) at a chosen cafe within the South Bay — usually eight or so of us at one table for about an hour and a half. No set topic. Conversations mostly revolve around tech career - how people got to where they are, what they're weighing right now, and what the job actually looks like from the inside versus how it gets described. Industry stuff comes up too.
Mid-career is loosely defined. If you've been at this long enough to have opinions about how it's changed, you'll fit.
This isn't a job board or a networking event. Nobody's recruiting/pitching. People do get to know each other, but that's a pleasant side effect.
Come when you can. Sitting and listening the whole time is completely fine — plenty of people do.
Buy your own coffee. That's the only cost.
I started this because I'm curious how people navigate this stuff, and I couldn't find anywhere nearby to talk about it that wasn't either a job hunt or someone pitching something
