About us
"In machine learning and life: collective communication scales."
Our community is a hands-on, inclusive space where AI and ML practitioners come together to explore, discuss, and shape the future of artificial intelligence. We foster curated discussions and collaborative problem-solving around real-world challenges and opportunities. As a volunteer-driven, community-led initiative, we’re committed to empowering members through shared learning, open dialogue, and diverse perspectives, while opening doors to career, educational, and social opportunities that showcase their AI/ML talents.
Why Community?
Theory will only take you so far. Relationships are our superpower. Grow together.
In today’s world, we’re inundated with content claiming to offer the “best” tools or the “optimal path to value”—often without understanding who they’re actually talking to. This leaves individuals investing time and resources into tools, skills, or systems that may not truly address their needs. We recognize that the ML stack is too broad for any one person or team to master entirely, and the industry moves quickly. That’s why hearing from those who’ve been in the hot seat across different roles is so valuable—it helps us understand how to better build for, support, or collaborate with other teams.
Our values are:
- Win Together. (Because we are together) Through time, talent, and treasure.
- Network === Net Worth
- Growth is a continuous journey, not a final destination
- Perspective is everything
- Insights are more valuable from real stories and people invested in your success.

Pizza and Soda provided.Join us at Code Talent for our Local Expert speaker series featuring Pete George for his talk "From Novelty to Asset: Steps to Enable AI Safely in Your Enterprise"!
It seems everyone is using AI to assist with their work or at least talking about using AI to assist with their work. Because the dawn of Generative AI is the most prolific technology in our lifetime to date, some might be skeptical of it’s capabilities yet how to use it with best practices in a controlled manner, how to use it responsibly, and mitigate its inherent risks.
This session will explore the technical mechanics and strategic governance needed to transform Generative AI from a novelty into a robust corporate asset. We will pull back the curtain on Large Language Models (LLMs) to demystify how they "think," providing attendees with mental models around prompting to maximize output quality. Beyond the prompt, we will dive into the architecture control—examining LLM observability, monitoring, and the necessity for human-in-the-loop review to maintain workflow integrity. Finally, we will tackle the evolving landscape of AI risk, offering considerations for mitigating hallucinations, protecting data privacy, and ensuring AI initiatives remain both innovative and compliant.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Attendees are eligible to receive a *free* print book from our partners at O'Reilly Media upon becoming a member of The Applied Machine Learning Collective of the Rockies! (https://amlcoftherockies.org/members/)
