Details

About The Trail:
This is a very scenic loop trail covering about eight miles in the Blue Ridge Mountains. No special equipment is needed, but do bring hiking shoes, lunch, water, some snacks, and some stories to share!

Level/Pace:
There are some hills here, so this is rated intermediate (meaning you can walk at 3 miles an hour and not hold the group up), so experienced hikers only for this trip.
Time: Budget three+ hours for this hike
Distance = Eight+ miles
Rating = Moderate
Equipment: Please bring water and a snack or lunch, as well as a change of shirt or blouse for the ride home.

Where To Meet: Please meet at the trailhead off or Forest Service Road 42 at ~11:50. For those coming up GA 400, take a left on GA 52, drive for a while until making a right on Roy Road (gas station on the corner), right on Doublehead Gap Road, right on FS 42 to the trailhead on the left for the AT.

Carpool Info: I will run one carpool from Alpharetta. Please send me an email that you would like to ride with me by Saturday night before the event so I can reserve your spot. FYI, your email let's me know you are coming and gives me a headcount so I'll know how many cars we'll need; please note, however, that due to the volume of emails, I do not confirm each individually.

For my group, please meet in the parking lot to the far left of the Best Buy near North Point Mall (Best Buy is located at the intersection of Haynes Bridge Road and Exit 9A off of 400) by 10:25. We will leave promptly at 10:30. FYI, I drive a white Toyota Sequoia. For planning purposes, expect to be back in the Atlanta area sometime around 5pm.

See you on the trail!

Charlie
