Southside Park < New Trails

Details

About The Trail:
Southside Park is a great - but little known - trail system near the airport. It has a couple of ponds and lots of flowy trails to make this a fairly easy hike through some thick woods. We have biked this trail system many times, and really like the scenery!

About The Hike:
Distance = We'll do our normal eight-ten miles
Time: Budget 3+ hours
Skill Rating = Moderate
Pace = 3 - 3½ miles per hour; intermediate to advanced hikers only please
Special Equipment = None needed, though walking poles might help
Food = As usual, we'll take several short stops to re-hydrate and grab something to eat, so please bring water and snacks
Kids/Pets = No pets please, but children that can keep the posted pace are encouraged to attend

Directions/Meeting Place:

This one is really easy: Take exit 54 (Jonesboro Road) off of 285, inside the Perimeter. Drive through one light, then take a right turn into the park where you'll see ballfields. Please meet in front of the the big statue of baseball bats (you'll know it when you see it).

And Don't Forget:
We'll go to a local restaurant or brewery after the hike.

See you on the trail!
