Mount Yonah Sunrise

Details
Where To Meet: on google maps it comes up as "Mount Yonah Trailhead"
Exact coordinates- 34.637275, -83.725524
We are going back to the top of this mountain for the sunrise(6:55am). This is my personal favorite hike, harder and nicer than Stone Mountain. Open gravel parking lot if you plan to sleep over. Bring a light, it is pitch black (you can see the stars)
This is a STEEP hike with Big ELEVATION GAINS. This is the challenging part of the hike.
Distance = 2.15 up and 2.15 miles down
Pace- Walking pace with less breaks than usual hikes. We will only have 4 3-minute and one 10- minute break before reaching the top for food, relaxation, and views. Slower people are welcome to come but I'm not slowing down for you because the sunrise doesn't wait.
Time: Budget 3+ hours (it will take 1hr 15mins roughly to reach the top)
Skill Rating = intermediate
Special Equipment =Shoes that prevent harm from rocks/boulders, walking sticks ARE HELPFUL.
-Dress in light layers along with a LIGHT (flashlight, lamp, phone light, etc.) avoid bringing fire.
Children and Dogs welcome
We start moving at 5:15 no matter what, the sunrise doesn't wait
Parking lot/ entrance- is rough(rock and dirt), drive with caution
We will meet in front of park map, highest point of the parking lot.
move at 5:15am on the dot.
late people - I'll post my GPS location for 1hr, so that you can catch up
we will have breakfast afterwards
TIPS: MINIMIZE TALKING on the steep parts because it takes away from your breathing. don't bend you neck down, it narrows your breathing airway.
good luck on waking up and see you there, the top and breakfast will be satisfying
