Firefly Foundation Class: Witchcraft-y Tools

It's May, so it must be that we're almost done with the Firefly House annual foundation classes. These classes are meant to provide students the opportunity to learn about the House and about our way of being Pagan.

For the eighth, and final, class of our Foundation Classes we focus on the tools of witchcraft. If you've been with us from the beginning, you've likely heard references to wands, chalices, incense, and the like. How these relate to our practices, and which of these things you might be interested in using in your own, is the subject of this final class. It's also likely that those who already have some of the tools described in the video and beyond might bring them along to the in-person class as a show-and-tell. At the end of the video, we share the location of some metaphysical and witch-y stores in the greater DC area.

When you RSVP for this class, you'll be asked to provide an email address. We'll send you a link to the class video at that address as soon as possible after we receive it. Watch the video before the class date and time, and come to class with any questions you might have. We will also send out a series of jump-start questions for you to think about related to the video's content as we get closer to the class session.

At this time, the in-person location for this class is yet to be determined. We will update the event as rapidly as possible with that location once we have identified it. Masks will be welcomed, but not provided, for in-person attendees. We will also have the necessary technology to allow folks to join in online via Zoom if you prefer to attend remotely. Zoom information will be sent out the morning of the event. If you're connecting that way, please give us a few minutes past 3:30pm to get the stream online.

This class is a required part of our foundation classes if you wish to join the Firefly House as an initiate. If that does not interest you, for example if you're joining us just to learn more for your own edification (which is wonderful), then feel free to skip this one and join for others. If you want to keep your options open with respect to initiation but cannot attend this session at the listed date and time, please contact the event host prior to the session. They will, in turn, provide you with the jump-start questions. Answer these questions in writing, and we'll give you credit for the class. Keep in mind, you can only miss three of eight sessions in this way. Time spent with initiates of the House and your fellow classmates is an important part of knowing if you want to initiate. If you don't initiate, regardless of the reason, you're still welcome to all of the public events we organize.
