Ai Jou is the Community Leader of The Hatchery Place. She is an independent writer and editor with a marketing communications background. She is passionate about personal growth and is a certified facilitator of The Transformation Game.
About The Hatchery Place
The Hatchery Place started in 2016 as a small, in-home creative coworking and coliving space in the quiet residential neighborhood of USJ 11. Kevin (a woodworker) and Elaine (an artist) built this space after leaving their corporate careers, inspired by a vision of fostering creativity, growth, and meaningful connections.
In its early days, The Hatchery Place was a vibrant community hub for digital nomads, traveling creatives, and locals—a space where skills, cultures, and stories were exchanged over coworking days and coliving nights. It was home to writers, makers, dreamers, and anyone seeking inspiration and heart-centered friendships.
Today, The Hatchery Place has evolved into a retreat space for slow living and creative exploration. While we’ve moved on from the coworking hustle, the spirit of community and creativity thrives. We now host intentional retreats centered around activities like intuitive painting, woodworking, transformation games, and reflective practices.
Our public gatherings remain at the heart of what we do. Join us for Monday yoga mornings, serene Monday hikes, deep conversation nights, or lively game nights. You might even find yourself invited to an ad-hoc creative event—whether it’s an impromptu art session or a tea ceremony.
