What we’re about
👋 HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE HIDEOUT, THE MOST ACTIVE THRILLER, SCI-FI AND HORROR FILM CLUB IN LONDON MADE BY FANS FOR FANS.
In a nutshell, we are just a bunch of Die Hard Film Buffs, Filmmakers, Creators, Comic Book Nerds, Geeks, and Trekkies who are aficionados of Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton, David Lynch, John Carpenter, James Cameron, Gene Roddenberry, H.P Lovecraft, you name it, who like to go out for drinks and watch movies. We also rate and review the films after we watch them and the results are posted on our Letterboxd Page.
We are avid supporters of Independent Cinema, The Film Festival Guild, Medicinema, Prince Charles Cinema and the British Film Institute. Thanks to this we sometimes gain special access and discounts to special events that we can then share with you. Plus we meet up regularly for a social to catch up again at the BFI which is a lot of fun.
We try to stay well informed when it comes to Film News, New Releases and Re-Releases and members are able to vote for the films they want to watch through our WhatsApp Group or Telegram Group which are available on request. We also have an alternative non invasive WhatsApp Channel and Telegram Channel for updates only.
Whatever the time of year we do our best to always be around, come and join us for a good time.

Now that’s a different story.Hello again guys 👋 The body horror genre seems to be making a big comeback lately. A couple of films come to mind which are Poor Things and The Substance. I particularly liked the latter. Now this one is a supernatural body horror which is written is written and directed by Michael Shanks, in his directorial debut. The film so far has received praise but also some criticism for allegedly plagiarising someone else’s idea. So, wow this must of been a very good idea if there was so desperate to steal it. The film stars real-life married actors as a couple who move to the countryside but find themselves encountering a mysterious force that horrifically causes changes in their bodies. Sounds great!
I’m guessing that the outcome is going to be more distressing than just painful body parts, so ouch. Anyway, there is our schedule for tonight:
- 8:00 PM: We meet for drinks at VUE Cinemas Bar (first floor). You will find me with a meetup sign.
- 9:15 PM: ooooh we moved down to the basement to Screen 1. I have selected seat A5, but you go ahead and choose where you feel safer.

Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate.Hey Caspian here 👋 I’m so geared up for this Christopher Nolan Season, and Inception is a true highlight of mine. He took that idea from above and spun it into one of the most original blockbusters of our time through a mind-bending heist thriller set within the architecture of dreams. Between the gravity-defying hallway fight, Hans Zimmer’s thunderous score, and Nolan’s layered storytelling, this is the kind of film that rewards rewatching again and again.
So whether you’re diving in for the first time or peeling back another layer of that dream, come along for the ride and let’s see how deep this rabbit hole really goes. But first check out the schedule below:

Summer’s almost over, so let’s wrap it up with great conversation, laughter, and, of course, movies! Share your favourite film of the year with stunning views over the Thames. At the London Embankment, it is as hot as the sun, and the cinema sparkles with seasons of bold adventures, hidden treasures, and stories that lift the heart and fire the imagination.Hello Again Everyone 👋 I am so happy to be back, because London rocks and you guys rock. And we’re cruising through the tail end of summer, can you believe that? The days are still warm, the evenings still golden, and the sunsets still gleaming through the trees. So, let’s talk movies, guys, because this year has been full of surprises. There were films I expected to love but didn’t, and others that caught me completely off guard in the best way. For me, two films stood out: Sinners, for its daring storytelling, and The Monkey, which I agree, is very marmite, and it's not for everyone. But now it’s your turn, what’s been your favourite movie so far this year? Whether it was a summer blockbuster, a quiet indie gem, or a quirky surprise, we should get together and talk about it.
If this is your first time, we’re a super chilled and friendly crowd of Movie Fans, Creators, and Filmmakers who love movies and meeting up to talk about them. For this late summer gathering, we’ll be meeting with Movie Roadhouse at the BFI Riverfront: Balcony Bar (upstairs) which overlooks Waterloo Bridge and the River Thames. The bar offers a great range of dishes and drinks, and we can relax inside or out on the balcony (and it's fully air-conditioned). It’s the perfect spot for any film buff or filmmaker, right in the heart of the British Film Institute.
So let’s wrap up the summer in cinematic style — with conversation, laughs, and maybe a surprise recommendation or two. Until then… may the force be with you!
