What we’re about

👋 HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE HIDEOUT!
London’s most active thriller, sci-fi, and horror film club built by fans, for fans. We’re a community of die-hard film buffs, filmmakers, comic nerds, and sci-fi dreamers who love everything from Hitchcock to Kubrick, from Carpenter to Cameron. We meet up regularly for movies, share laughs over drinks, and then rave about it on our Letterboxd Page.

We’re also proud supporters of independent cinema, The Film Festival Guild, Prince Charles Cinema, the BFI, Medicinema and more, which often means special access and discounts for our members. We also host regular socials at the BFI Riverfront, which are always a lot of fun. We try to stay on top of film news and let you vote on what we watch via our WhatsApp or Telegram group (available after your first Meetup). We also have channels for updates only, so you can stay in the loop without the chatter.

🪨 NEVER AGAIN THOSE HORRIFIC ENCLOSED PLACES
If I were lost down there—alone, groping for a way out—I’d realise the true depth of my claustrophobia: it isn’t the walls themselves, but the fear of never being found again and of disappearing forever.

What’s up, everyone? There are plenty of things I might try once—skydiving, bungee jumping, maybe even swimming with sharks. But crawling into the depths of the earth, lungs burning, the only sound is my own breath while the way back vanishes? I don’t think so. I’ll just wait up here. And on that note, let me introduce you to Neil Marshall’s critically acclaimed follow-up to the cult hit Dog Soldiers (which is also pretty cool). No further explanation needed, except this: you have to sink into the depths of this film to understand why staying on the surface feels like survival. LOL.

Now let’s descend into this madness as the lights go out. Remember: every flicker of light is both a promise and a warning… And then… try not to lose your nerve. Check out the schedule breakdown below:

6:00 PM: We meet for drinks at The Three Lanterns. You will find me with a meetup sign.
7:30 PM: We move to Screen 2 at Cineworld Leicester Square. I have chosen seat A7. But feel free to choose what you like better.
9:25 PM We briefly reconvene to to score the film and to discuss. The results will be posted on Letterboxd.
