👋 Welcome to The Hideout: London’s most hyperactive social film club, built by horror fans for horror fans, exploring every corner of horror and the darker edge of sci-fi.
This is a home for fearless film lovers, indie creators, and dreamers, who dare to explore the depths of dystopia, drawn to the uncanny worlds of Hitchcock, Kubrick, Carpenter, Craven, Cronenberg, Argento, Lovecraft, and beyond.
We meet regularly for screenings, share laughs over drinks, and rave (or rant) together on our Letterboxd Page. You’ll also find us hanging out at our BFI Riverfront socials — always a great time. We stay on top of film news, and members get to vote on what we watch next via our WhatsApp or Telegram groups (unlocked after your first meetup).
We’re all about supporting independent cinema, whether it’s at the Prince Charles Cinema, exciting film festivals, or the BFI,. That means we often snag special perks and early access as part of our crew. From road trips to spooky festivals, pub quizzes to Riverfront hangouts, there’s always something fun in the mix.

👋 Hey guys! National Cinema Weekend is back on 5 and 6 September, with tickets across participating cinemas for just £4, so what better way to celebrate than by revisiting one of the greatest cinema success stories in recent memory.
Curry Barker made Obsession for around 750,000. A few months later, it has grossed over 500 million worldwide. That’s an absolutely ridiculous return for a tiny original horror film from a 26 year old filmmaker who came up making shorts on YouTube.
It’s also one of my favourite films of recent years, horror or otherwise, and definitely one I’ve wanted an excuse to see again with a crowd. So whether you loved it the first time, want to see if it holds up on a rewatch, or somehow missed the whole phenomenon, come along!
The Meetup: We’ll meet at Vue Cinema West End (Leicester Square) upstairs Bar at 6:15 pm before the screening. Then we'll then head over to Screen 1 for the 7 PM screening. I have booked seat E6 if you wish to sit in the same row**.**
After the film, at around 9:15 PM, we will reconvene at the bar to score the film and head over to The Perception at the W London to discuss the film. You are welcome to stay for as long as you like 😊.
And at £4 a ticket, you really don’t have much to lose. Unlike Bear. 👀

Joshua's Tavern at The Londoner, 38 Leicester Square, London WC2H 7DX, London, GB🦠 The largest company, which functions as a massive, corrupt pharmaceutical conglomerate, is about to replicate itself.
👋 Hey guys! The Big Bad Pharma is back, and Zachary Michael Cregger will be your new pharmacist. And of course, this will be under the guidance of the bigger, even badder Umbrella Corporation.
The film will follow a hapless courier tasked with delivering a package to a remote hospital. He soon finds himself caught in the middle of an outbreak and must fight through hordes of mutated creatures to survive.

👋 Hey guys!
It looks like DC is taking a seriously dark turn. The buzz around Clayface is that this is not your typical superhero flick. Instead, it leans heavily into transformation, identity, and pure psychological unease — pushing the boundaries of the DC world in a much darker direction.Clayface is a body horror film based on the eponymous DC Comics character, directed by James Watkins, with a screenplay by Mike Flanagan — who’s fast becoming one of my favourite voices in the genre. The story follows an up-and-coming actor whose face is disfigured by a gangster. As a last resort, he turns to a scientist who transforms his body into clay, with horrifying consequences.
While Clayface exists within the DC Universe, this film appears to stand firmly on its own as a genre piece — blending horror and tragedy rather than superhero spectacle.
The plan is to meet beforehand for drinks and a chat about the DC Universe and how horror is carving out its own space within it. Then we’ll head into the screening together, followed by a relaxed post-movie discussion and our Letterboxd scores. No pressure — just good company and a film that’s bound to spark conversation.
If you’re a fan of the eerie and the unexpected, this could be a very fun (and unsettling) night out.
