👋 Hey guys! National Cinema Weekend is back on 5 and 6 September, with tickets across participating cinemas for just £4, so what better way to celebrate than by revisiting one of the greatest cinema success stories in recent memory.
Curry Barker made Obsession for around 750,000. A few months later, it has grossed over 500 million worldwide. That’s an absolutely ridiculous return for a tiny original horror film from a 26 year old filmmaker who came up making shorts on YouTube.
It’s also one of my favourite films of recent years, horror or otherwise, and definitely one I’ve wanted an excuse to see again with a crowd. So whether you loved it the first time, want to see if it holds up on a rewatch, or somehow missed the whole phenomenon, come along!
The Meetup: We’ll meet at Vue Cinema West End (Leicester Square) upstairs Bar at 6:15 pm before the screening. Then we'll then head over to Screen 1 for the 7 PM screening. I have booked seat E6 if you wish to sit in the same row**.**
After the film, at around 9:15 PM, we will reconvene at the bar to score the film and head over to The Perception at the W London to discuss the film. You are welcome to stay for as long as you like 😊.
And at £4 a ticket, you really don’t have much to lose. Unlike Bear. 👀
