What we’re about

## WHO WE ARE:

Hello, and thank you for considering our group. First off, we are not a networking group. We are purely social and discourage members promoting their businesses.

Unlike other meet-ups, we restrict our membership to 50 ladies in order for everyone to participate on a regular basis and for members to really get to know each other. We are a wonderfully supportive group of women who live in the South Bay area (San Pedro on the south to Manhattan Beach on the north) who want to make lasting friendships with others in their neighborhood. You'd be surprised how much fun a lunch can be! Our average age is about 60, with a few in their 50's and a couple in their 80's. Our members are incredibly dedicated and stay involved in monthly activities. We are a group of interesting, intelligent, positive and fun-loving women many of whom have been in the group for many years.

We meet up on various weekdays, twice a month, in the South Bay - from El Segundo to Palos Verdes - at a diverse mix of restaurants. Our emphasis is on friendship - not so much the food! We are looking for women who can commit to lunches and actively participate. If you work, have a hectic schedule and a lot of priorities, this group may not be for you. You should be a good conversationalist/listener. We also host monthly potlucks at members' homes, which have been a huge success, hence the Covid vaccine mandate.

The lunches are limited to 12 to 18 members in order to avoid long wait times for service and in order for us to be able to converse easily. You will pay only for what you eat plus tax and tip. Try to bring cash. Please feel free to suggest your favorite restaurant in the South Bay and we will do our best to incorporate it. It is better to bring cash to save time.

Your organizer works hard to bring you memorable dining and social experiences. We ask that you do your best to attend events that you sign up for and to update/change your RSVP promptly. A cancellation within four hours of an event counts as a no-show. Our group has a three-strike policy for no-shows and non-participation over a three month period. If you get to three strikes, membership with this group will end.

The group is often closed to new members so all of our ladies can participate on a regular basis. If membership is closed when you visit the site and you're interested in becoming a future member, you can contact us with your answers to the profile questions and we'll consider you when an opening occurs. If we're open to members when you visit the site, please complete the profile questionnaire and submit it to us. Also, please upload a current photo of yourself and, to become a member, you must also live in the South Bay.

One last and very important thing - BE ON TIME!! :-)

Thank you and welcome!

Valerie - Organizer
