About us

"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Use the power of empathy and kindness you possess. It's the only then when you learn more about yourself. Always be nice towards others."
~Robin Williams~ 7-21-1953 to HE'LL LIVE FOREVER.

Howdy Everyone,
I would like to welcome you to THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH CAMPING, HIKING & SOCIAL GROUP

I am not an organizer who writes a colorful description of What's Out There? I would prefer we traveled together and make our own scrapbook of memories. You've looked at enough books and magazines and seen photos of: sand colored deserts, deep canyons, painted mesas, wildflowers, pine, conifer and aspen trees so how about gettin' up and personal with our surroundings!

To let you know this is a DISPERSED CAMPING GROUP and not
GLAMPING CAMPING.
TENTS, TRAILERS AND POP-TOPS, VANS, AND THOSE WHO HAVE CAMPERS OR SHELLS ATTACHED TO THEIR TRUCKS are fine.

Hiking:
My hikes are usually up in the mountains during the camping months including Forest and County Roads. There are trails found on these roads that have no names to them. Hike a trail that no one else has traveled then Make It Your Own!
Most of the hikes I post are EASY TO MODERATE with little elevation gain as possible. You'll have enough elevation while camping high in the Rockies, otherwise the hikes I post during off season camping time are like most hikes other groups you belong to and are already doing.

Social Gatherings: I'm up to going anywhere for some wings, shrimp and a Pepsi!
I'm not only talking about breweries or bars though I do wish Quaker Steak and Lube in Arvada was still around. Every Wednesday from 2012 to the 'FIRST TERM' and the CoVid we would meet for all you could eat wings and shrimp! I hope we are able to find a spot where we could do this again. Maybe the Cannonball Creek Brewing Company in Golden, CO. would be a nice place to start.

Let's have a good time and get together very soon.
Thanks for joining THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH CAMPING, HIKING & SOCIAL GROUP

Sincerely,
Don "MUTT"

When Meetup members sign up and accept the Meetup Terms of Service, they are agreeing to the Release found in Section 6.2: This Release basically states that members attend events at their own risk, and release The Organizers, the assistant organizers and Meetup from any claims that may result in injury or death

Purchasing a Colorado Outdoor Recreation Search and Rescue (CORSAR) Card. Colorado residents and visitors are well served by dedicated volunteer search and rescue teams, but mission costs are often in the thousands of dollars. By purchasing a CORSAR card you are contributing to the Search and Rescue Fund, which will reimburse these teams for costs incurred in your search and rescue. Funds remaining at the end of the year are used to help pay for training and equipment for these teams. Anyone with a current hunting/fishing license, or boat, snowmobile, ATV registration is already covered by the fund. The card is not insurance and does not reimburse individuals nor does it pay for medical transport.
Sincerely,
Don "MUTT"
