What we’re about
The Sailing Club sails on Lake Baldwin in Winter Park, FL. The club owns twelve dinghy sailboats, three JY 15's, three Hobie Waves and six Hunter 140's, for our members to sail at club events. There are regular events including first Sunday open sailing, second Sunday racing, moonlight sails at Lake Fairview, picnics and a Christmas party.
Members must be able to demonstrate safe sailing ability, including:
- Correctly trimming sails for all points of sail
- Tacking
- Jibing
- Rescuing a person overboard
- Righting a capsized boat
If you are new to sailing or need a refresher, the Community Sailing Program is designed to teach these skills so that you can join us on the water.
