Being HIV + today, especially when well controlled, is no longer a certain fatality. However, it can come with long lasting stigma. Like HIV, a cancer diagnosis can really negatively affect our psyche, our emotions, and our sense of self. Talking and sharing stories with others from similar experiences helps. We will also explore advocacy and latest research in HIV, cancer and health management.

Shanti HIV+Cancer Support is the only program of its kind serving HiV+ folks with cancer in the Bay Area. This group provides a safe, confidential space to discuss all the issues we face when dealing with any type of cancer.
