Wilson Mountain North.

Rating - High Moderate to Hard
Distance - ~10 miles (In & Out)
Elevation Gain - 2200 feet

From the North Wilson Mountain Trailhead we enter a forested area and make our way up 1400' feet to join the Wilson Mountain Trail. We will climb an additional 800' and make our way to the N Wilson Mt Overlook. The Vultee Arch is visible from this location.

A Red Rock Pass is required so be sure the drivers have one to display.

I will probably already be in Sedona. I'll be camping at large the night before. I'll have to drive miles outside of Sedona so that I can do that because camping at large isn't allowed with a certain area. If you are interested in coming up the night before, let me know or comment in the comment section. So...I won't meet you (I think) at the carpool location. I'll just meet you at the trailhead. You guys will need to self organize at the carpool and get up to Sedona. I'll email out my phone number to people who RSVP yes.

Directions to the trailhead: From Sedona, drive about 5 miles north on route 89A to the Encinoso Picnic Area. Park in the trailhead parking area at the entrance to the picnic area. There are a limited number of spots for the trailhead but additional parking is available in the picnic area. The trail starts at the north end of the parking area near the road.

Carpool location:Please meet at the Fry's plaza on the southwest corner of I 17 and Bell Rd. Please park near the M&I Bank at the west end of the Fry's store. Please meet at 6:15 AM and leave promptly at 6:30 AM! We want to take as few cars as possible so if you plan to go to the trailhead on your own, please try to carpool with other members in your neighborhood. Please state your carpool intentions. Please remember to carry plenty of water, nutritious snacks, hats, sunscreen, good shoes, cameras and plenty of water. Hiking poles may come in handy due to the steepness of this trail.
