Hike: Ironing Board. (Superstition Mountain)

Hike to the Ironing Board. The flat area just under the flat Iron between Siphon Draw and Monument Canyon.

Distance: approximately 7 miles

Elevation gain: approximately 1500'+

This hike will begin at the first parking lot on the left on First water road at 0600. We will hike south till we join the Siphon Draw trail. we will proceed to the Top of the Siphon Draw, then instead of going on up to the flat Iron we will hang a right, hike out onto the Ironing Board, and take in the spectacular view. We will return via the same route.

This is not an easy hike. However, It is doable for someone in reasonable hiking condition. We will not be going fast, but we will want to complete the hike before it gets too hot out. Please evaluate your hiking abilities carefully.

It may get warm towards the end of the hike.

Be sure to bring:

Water and nutrients to sustain you for 5 hrs of strenuous outdoor activity in a summertime desert environment.

Your preferred means of protection from the elements and the terrain.

A sense of adventure.
