What we’re about
Please also sign up on the Tavern forums to get informed about future events, advertise or find a gaming group - or just connect to the RPG scene in Tokyo!
A feast hall for students of the arcane & divine, martial & stealth, order & chaos. A place to organize get-togethers for playing pen and paper RPGs, in Tokyo, Japan. We play a variety of RPGs, including Dungeons & Dragons, 13th Age, Shadowrun, Star Wars and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying. We welcome everyone, experienced gamer or total newbie.
If you are a Game Master looking for a group, set a date, get a place, choose a system, and click "Schedule a New Meetup".
If you are a player looking for a group, look at the announced meetups for free spots. You can also leave a looking for group post in the discussion forum. Also join us at our Facebook group! Or directly at the Tokyo RPG Society Tavern!

=== Asakusa Game Night 18 ===
This month to account for potential long weekend trips of participants, we are instead running Game Day on Thursday the 2nd!
Hosted at a cozy English book store in Asakusa, the Asakusa Game Night is a shorter tabletop RPG event on the first Friday night of every month, bringing the Tokyo Roleplaying Society's Game Day goodness to the eastern parts of Tokyo. Join us for games, books and (non-alcohol as well as alcoholic) drinks as we are congregating in Asakusa for the 10th time!
=== How the Game Night works ===
As usual, we’re looking for volunteer GMs to run sessions. Please sign up on the community forum and fill out the form to get set up. We‘ll have just one time slot for this smaller event, from 7PM to 11PM, though there is some flexibility with the ending time. We have space for 3-4 game tables, so if you want to run something, please let us know quickly!
We'll create a separate meetup entry for each gaming session, where players will be able to sign up (though please also RSVP to this event so we can keep track of the total number of attendees to be expected). For our equally fine playing folks, stay tuned for these entries coming up and pick your games. You can find an overview of the games here on meetup, and we will add links to the individual games to this post as they get announced.
We recommend to watch this space and the FB group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/TokyoRPG/) as well as Line for upcoming games, and to reserve your spot.
Please support the venue by ordering snacks and drinks from the counter - but you are already experts at this. You've got this!

== Otsuka Game Day 41: Maysters of the Universe ==
As usual, we’re looking for volunteer GMs to run sessions. Please send the organizers of the event (Jeremy and Yan) a message or alternatively comment on this event below so we can set you up. We‘ll have two time slots, 3:00PM - 6:30PM and 6:45PM - 10:30PM. Titans is now confirmed to always be open until 11PM again, which means that the second slot is officially extended by thirty minutes, not just unofficially. Furthermore, we have extended the first slot from 6:20PM to 6:30PM and the start of the second slot has been moved to 6:45PM. More gaming for everyone!
As always, we will have an entire floor to ourselves, and another table on the second floor! All floors are of course serviced by fantastic brews and delicious food. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a newcomer, everyone is welcome to play some tabletop RPGs here!
Otsuka Game Day is a great opportunity to play some one-shots sessions, try out a new system, join a mini campaign and make some like-minded friends!
Yes, beginners are welcome to attend.

As usual, we’re looking for volunteer GMs to run sessions. Please go to our community site and fill out the form to get set up with a game! If you have any questions, please reach out to the organizers (Jeremy and Yan).

To join an actual game, follow the 3 easy steps below:
- CHECK - Check the games in the list above for one with an opening by copying and pasting the links into your browser. Alternatively, go to Tokyo Roleplaying Games (https://www.meetup.com/tokyorpg/) or the Tavern (https://tavern.tokyorpgsociety.com/) and check out the games from there.
- ATTEND - Find a game with an opening and click "Attend". Don't forget to also click "Attend" on this event page so we can get a head count. If there are no games with an opening, get on a waiting list and hope for the best. Then show up on Saturday ready to roll dice or just drink as the gods decide your fate.
- CONTACT - If you're going to be late or have a question about the game you're attending, then directly message the GM of the game you're signed up for or post a message on their game page.
We recommend to watch this space and the FB group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/TokyoRPG/) as well as Line and Tavern for upcoming games, and to reserve your spot.
Please support the venue by ordering food and drink - both are also seriously delicious and highly recommended.
