Mary Cassatt is one of America's greatest female painters, and she painted women in a time of turbulent change. Sometimes, a painting of a mother with a child is also a painting of a suffragette! Join us at the National Gallery to take a deeper look at 40 of Cassatt's works, including some rarely shown. Some of us may have even visited some of the galleries once or twice when family was in town but may not have fully understood how revolutionary these artists were. Our guide will be **Deirdre**, a member of the non-profit community organization Washington DC History & Culture. While not an art historian, her approach to this project is show what Art was in the Middle Ages and the huge leap that occurred during this brief period of time known as the Renaissance. The tour will take about one hour allowing time at the end for questions. This program is presented by the non-profit community organization Washington, DC History & Culture: Experience the history and culture of Washington, DC - and the world! *** **Registration**: FREE and all are welcome including children and groups. Join us for a paint and sip experience where you’ll receive a free undead miniature and explore the dark forces of necromancy in Warhammer Fantasy and The Old World. Whether you’re new to the hobby or a seasoned painter, this event invites you to raise something from the dead and make it your own. Learn techniques for painting bone, decay, ghostly effects, and weathered armor while diving into the lore and battlefield role of undead factions. From shambling skeletons to cursed revenants, you’ll bring a lifeless model to unholy existence. All supplies are provided, space is limited, and the dead are waiting to rise.
