Weekly self tape practice for actors with Actorverse. www.actorverse.co.uk What do we do differently? In this Self Tape Practice we will explore and tape the scene section by section. This means we will break the scene down into units and tape each one. Reviewing and reflecting on choices openly, we will test new tactics and at the end of the process we record 2 full takes. This process allows actors to discover nuance rather than just receiving broad notes after a long read through. It's a more immersive, practical and actor-focused way of working that helps each actor truly unlock the scene. Plenty of superb roles available!! Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, Coriolanus, a fierce and proud Roman general, earns fame after defeating Rome’s enemies, especially at Corioli. Despite his military success, he despises the common people and refuses to flatter them for political gain. Urged to seek public office, his arrogance alienates citizens, leading to his banishment. In anger, he allies with his former enemy Aufidius and marches against Rome. As destruction looms, his mother, Volumnia, pleads with him to spare the city. Moved by her words, he relents, choosing honor over revenge. His decision saves Rome but seals his fate, as he is killed for betraying his allies in return. Script Reading, Improvisation, Voice Projection, Games, Public Speaking and audition techniques will be some of the points covered over the coming terms. Drama is ideal for building confidence, helping with articulation and developing presentation skills. It is also a lot of fun! The classes have built up over the last five years and are run by Mario Renzullo, who was an original member of the famed Anna Scher Theatre and made his professional debut in 1970, and went on to have many lead TV, film and theatre roles. Mario founded the theatrical agency Smart Management, which has been running for over twenty years. The classes are open to a wide age range and welcome those new to acting as well as those with professional acting experience. Typically, between 12 and 20 people join us each week, creating a lively and engaging group dynamic. Venue: The Angel Church, Chadwell Street EC1R 1XA Five minutes’ walk from the Angel tube station.
