10th Anniversary Celebration with Chris Webb - Power BI Under the Bonnet
This month we're celebrating the TENTH anniversary of the London Fabric User Group - having started life as the London Power BI User Group TEN years ago.
We'd love you to join us at the offices of the aptly named Tenth Revolution to help us celebrate.
# TENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH CHRIS WEBB
Chris has presented at the user group every year in May to celebrate our anniversary, and we didn't want this year to be any different.
**Power BI under the bonnet**: monitoring queries and refreshes using Workspace Monitoring, Log Analytics, Profiler and DAX Studio
When you're performance tuning a slow Power BI report or refresh you need to know what happens inside the engine, and the good news is that the Power BI engine can give you all kinds of detailed information on its internals. But how do you get access to this? How can you understand it? In this session you'll find out: how you can get (almost) the same information on internals from Workspace Monitoring, Log Analytics, SQL Server Profiler and DAX Studio and when to use which; which engine events are relevant to queries and which ones are relevant to refreshes; and how you can interpret this information for tuning.
**Agenda**
18:30 - Welcome, drinks, pizza & networking
19:00 - Main Session
20:00 - Help us celebrate at a local pub (details to be confirmed on the night)
**Venue**
Tenth Revolution offices in London.
Aldgate House, 33 Aldgate High St, London EC3N 1DL
Please provide your first and last name when registering for the event, as this is provided to building security to allow you entrance into the venue.
Friendly Chess in Russell Square
A laid-back lunchtime of friendly chess in the charming surroundings of Russell Square, Bloomsbury (or in The Atrium Cafe of The Imperial Hotel across the road, if it rains). Whether you're new in town and looking to meet new people, craving some social games, or live/work/study nearby, all are welcome.
Chess sets are available to borrow, and there are optional food/drinks from the cafe next to the chess tables. Please don't bring outside food/drinks (other than water), and buy something if you use a cafe table (no need when using the chess tables, which have boards printed on them).
This will be a hosted event - if you're the first to arrive, you'll see your host sitting at one of the chess tables with a chess set.
Feel free to write in the event to confirm you're going and encourage others to come along. Most of those attending are from other social media groups, so numbers are usually higher than they appear here.
Have fun! :)
Life Drawing. Chloë Models. £12.00

£12.00 for the session. The group is run on a drop-in basis. Pay on the night. Cash or card.

AI Forum London Build Room: What's Actually Working in AI Adoption
If you are a founder, operator, manager, or newer AI builder and the AI conversation feels too technical or abstract, this evening is for you.
The point is simple: bring one real-world problem from your work, team, customers, hiring, operations, or service delivery. We will use the room to work out what could be tested safely, what should not be automated yet, and what a useful first step might look like.
AI adoption is no longer only an engineering topic.
The harder questions are now showing up in operations, transformation, HR, product, recruitment, public services, regulated teams, and founder-led companies:
- Where does AI actually save work?
- What should not be automated yet?
- Who owns the risk when an AI system influences a decision?
- How do you move from a pilot to a real capability?
This is an informal build room for people working through those questions in real organisations. It is still relaxed and social, but the aim is that people leave with something more useful than a few business cards.
Come if you are an operator, transformation lead, HR/product/programme person, founder, recruiter, public-sector digital lead, or just someone trying to make AI adoption practical rather than performative.
The lightweight format:
- bring one real AI adoption problem, workflow, or opportunity
- do a few short problem-swap rounds with people facing adjacent issues
- leave with an AI Adoption Signal Sheet / Build Card: one useful first experiment, one signal to collect, and one follow-up from the room
No slides. No panel. No vendor pitches.
Ram will give a short welcome around 7pm, then the rest is structured conversation and open networking.
Free to attend. Please RSVP with enough detail for us to understand who is in the room.
You do not need to have built an AI product or know the technical vocabulary. You should leave with a clearer view of one practical place AI could help, one risk or constraint to watch, and one useful person or next step to follow up with.

Saturday Acting Workshop - CORIOLANUS
Following our critically acclaimed productions of OTHELLO, MACBETH and TWELFTH NIGHT the Acting gymnasium's Saturday workshop returns to Theatre Deli on Saturday 28th March with a new imagining of Shakepeare's CORIOLANUS. Plenty of superb roles available!!
Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, Coriolanus, a fierce and proud Roman general, earns fame after defeating Rome’s enemies, especially at Corioli. Despite his military success, he despises the common people and refuses to flatter them for political gain. Urged to seek public office, his arrogance alienates citizens, leading to his banishment. In anger, he allies with his former enemy Aufidius and marches against Rome. As destruction looms, his mother, Volumnia, pleads with him to spare the city. Moved by her words, he relents, choosing honor over revenge. His decision saves Rome but seals his fate, as he is killed for betraying his allies in return.

Build Your AI Docs Strategy: Gaps, Playbooks and Automation
**AI is becoming part of many documentation workflows, but how do you turn that into a clear, repeatable strategy?**
At this month’s meetup, we’ll focus on how to build an AI docs strategy by identifying gaps in your current approach, creating practical playbooks, and using automation to support consistent, scalable documentation.
In this session, [Maddy Onyehara](https://www.linkedin.com/in/maddalena-o-bb2372020) (Technical Writer, Cloudflare), [Jun Lee](https://www.linkedin.com/in/junlee98?utm_source=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=member_ios) (Senior Technical Writer, Cloudflare), and [Anita Achu](https://www.linkedin.com/in/anita-achu?utm_source=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=member_ios) (Technical Writer, Upsun) will walk through how to approach AI in documentation in a structured way. Richmond Structured Interactive Professional Dating Night
**💘 Speed Dating from Home for Richmond Singles Mutual Matches After — Personality Matched**
In each session, you'll spend your time in live one-on-one Zoom rounds with Richmond locals age-grouped and personality-matched, while a host ensures nothing feels forced.
On completing your sign-up, you answer a handful of personality questions — those answers are used to identify compatible Richmond singles for your rounds, so the format works harder than any dating app.
After the session closes, we send mutual match results — so it is mutual or it stays private — and you decide your next step from there.
**Registration — choose your age group:**
- **Ages 18-32** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=537.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Richmond&groupurlname=sparking-lasting-ties-through-outdoor-socials&ar=18-32&face_v=6.0)
- **Ages 30-46** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=537.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Richmond&groupurlname=sparking-lasting-ties-through-outdoor-socials&ar=30-46&face_v=6.0)
- **Ages 40-58** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=537.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Richmond&groupurlname=sparking-lasting-ties-through-outdoor-socials&ar=40-58&face_v=6.0)
- **Ages 55+** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=537.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Richmond&groupurlname=sparking-lasting-ties-through-outdoor-socials&ar=55+&face_v=6.0)
**⚠️ Do not lose your spot:** This rsvp alone will not confirm your attendance, so use the link for your age range, complete sign-up, and submit the personality questionnaire — spaces are purposely limited so move fast, and your seat is only secure once registration is complete.
---
**Ideal if you are:**
- Returners living in Richmond finished with dating apps that go nowhere and want real chemistry over profile photos.
- Anyone living in Richmond who have had enough of conversations that fizzle before a first date and need a better way to meet people.
- Members from the Richmond area leaving behind profiles instead of real people and are serious about meeting someone.
- Women and men from the Richmond area done with shallow connections that never lead anywhere and want real chemistry over profile photos.
- Locals locally in Richmond who no longer want profiles instead of real people and want actual face-to-face conversation.
**Four simple steps**
1. **Confirm your place** – by tapping the link for your age group, then do the personality quiz which only takes two minutes, since that is what confirms your place.
2. **Jump on Zoom** – by clicking into the session at the scheduled start, works on any device without requiring a download, and the host introduces everyone and gets the rounds started.
3. **Meet your matches** – focused private rounds with compatible Richmond area locals your age, with a friendly host making sure every round feels easy, as the work of finding compatible people was done for you.
4. **See your mutual connections** – after all rounds finish mutual matches are distributed privately, so your info only reaches someone who also chose you, and you follow up at your own speed from there.
💡 **Quick tip:** grab a glass of water before you start, so nothing interrupts the flow of a good conversation, since it only takes five minutes and makes everything smoother.

✨ One Zoom call, real conversations, real matches — register via your age group above and you just show up on the night this time. You might be surprised what one evening can do. 💝 ✨
