Aloha Dear Friends! Welcome to the Kowloon Mindfulness Community. Together we explore and practice mindfulness to learn how to live in the present moment. We hope to cultivate a safe space for people to try mindfulness practices such as meditation, mindful walking, and tea ceremony. ​The meeting location is at [Sacred Space Therapy and Wellness studio](https://maps.app.goo.gl/5wUBXwXE7zrZZaXu7) at Lai Chi Kok (Exit Lai Chi Kok MTR D2, go into Great Wall Factory Building. **Hike: Tung Lung Chau Island - Circumnavigation** **Difficulty Level:** 3 out of 5 **Distance:** 8.5-10 km (approximate) **Time:** 5 hours (approximate) **Description:** Calling all intrepid hikers! Brace yourself for an exhilarating adventure that will leave you breathless with excitement. Join us as we conquer the 8.5km trail encircling the captivating Tung Lung Chau Island, a journey that will ignite your senses and take approximately 4.5 hours of pure adrenaline. Experience the island's wonders in all their glory, from the breathtaking climb to the 232-meter pinnacle to the awe-inspiring remains of Tung Lung Chau Fort, a formidable defense against marauding pirates. Get ready to immerse yourself in this thrilling escapade, where every step is a testament to the indomitable spirit of exploration. Don't miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to witness nature's beauty and history unfold before your eyes. **What to bring:** * 3-4 liters of water * Snacks to eat along the way (sandwich, fruits, nuts, etc) * Hiking shoes with good support * Sunglasses * Headgear (cap/hat) * Sunscreen * Bug Spray * In case of Rain: plan accordingly **Toilets:** There are toilets at the pier, on the boat and on the island. **Stores:** While the pier does have stores where you can purchase drinks and snacks, it is highly recommended to come fully prepared with all the essentials you'll need for the hike. There is a store on the island, The Holiday Store, where you can also buy some items; whether it will be open on the day we arrive is anyone's guess. **\*Meeting Point:** Sai Won Ho MTR Station - Exit B \*Once everyone arrives we will walk to the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter Landing No. 10. This will give us 45 min to walk to the ferry terminal and DEPART at 9:45 AM. **IMPORTANT**: Out of respect to the members that arrive on time, we will only be able to wait a maximum of 5 minutes. Seven Saints Temple 七聖古廟 on Ma On Shan 馬鞍山. Chat Shing Temple sits on the very edge of what used to be rural Shatin. Now the temple resides along the gentrifying Sai Sha Road with developments just outside of the Wu Kai Sha New Town. Either way, this temple is one of the few temples dedicated to the Seven Sisters, who are often portrayed as benevolent protectors of local rural women who often suffered from the dangers of a hard rural life. Although small, these figurines are among the most rustic and beautiful statues I've seen in Hong Kong, lending this out-of-the-way location a peaceful aura. Well worth the trek! We'll gather at the Wu Kai Sha Bus Terminal and take the KMB bus 99 to the stop near Che Ha Village. The Hong Kong Sacred Spaces Society sponsors this trip and is free to all.
