Meet up, Warm up, and Get Moving to Get Fit :)
We will start the session with some light stretching exercises to warm us up, and help to prepare us for the run. The pace of the run will be steady, depending on who is running with us on the day. Days when we have a large group we may break into multiple groups, each operating independently at their own pace. Saturdays are good for intermediate runners, and is usually a 10km run, again at a steady pace. If you're looking to get into running, come along on Tuesday or Thursday mornings and I will coach you, at your pace, to get you up to running (jogging) to 5km without stops. The only thing I will ask, if you're a beginner, is that you're able to walk for approx 30 minutes at a relaxed pace. PLEASE NOTE: That, if you RSVP a particular event, then please ensure that you attend, as there may be other members relying on you for company on the run. IMPORTANT NOTE: Any run or activity that you participate in with the group will be at your own risk. Usually we have a post run (after our cool down) coffee in the Dash container at the Hole in the Wall pub.

Distance 73 Kms, 385m ascent Today we cycle out through north county Dublin’s quiet rural roads to reach Fourknocks Passage Tomb, a Neolithic tomb 5,000 years old on the border of counties Dublin and Meath: https://www.discoverboynevalley.ie/boyne-valley-drive/heritage-sites/four-knocks. A lovely route through north county Dublin. Here is our plan for the day. 1️⃣. We leave from St Anne’s Road Pocket Park, beside Drumcondra Train Station (corner of Drumcondra Road and St Anne’s Road ) at 9.30am. 2️⃣Cycle out the north city suburbs using mostly bike lanes, then through Santry Demesne park and on, passing St Margaret's, and onwards to Lispopple, Oldtown and on to Ardcath and Fourknocks on quiet rural roads, 3️⃣ We stop for a coffee in Oldtown, and also for coffee/lunch in Garristown village. 4️⃣ The return journey is via Garristown , Killsallaghan and St Margaret’s and through Ballymun before we finish in Drumcondra. All going well we should be back in Drumcondra by 3pm. * *Please note - It is every participant's responsibility to ride safely, follow the rules of the road, and come prepared with the proper equipment.* * *Please wear a helmet and bring a tube etc in case you get a puncture.* * *Please cycle single file on narrow busy roads* WAIVER & RELEASE: We are a group composed of volunteers. Centro Cultural Capoeira Água de Beber (CECAB) – Capoeira Água de Beber Cultural Centre – is a non-profit organization, founded officially in January 2002. Its pivot activity is Capoeira (classes, rodas, workshops, public presentations, cultural events, performances), however it aggregates other cultural manifestations as: samba de roda, maculelê, frevo, ciranda, dança do coco, dança afro, puxada de rede, craftworks workshops of making and playing music instruments, video projections, movies, lectures about relevant cultural topics and matters related to enforcement of citizenship. All the activities realized through CECAB are designated to execution of social responsibility projects, further on the sportive, cultural and artistic activities through the realization of the shows, presentations and events related to Capoeira and Brazilian culture.

Mix of paces in this group from 6:30 min per km to close to 5 min per km. For those that want to do a longer distance, they will probably start earlier and link up with us for 9AM If you are doing one of the earlier runs (Such as Harry's run), please sign up for this too. Ideally we will run the trails if they are not too wet. Meet near the bus stop at the visitors centre car park. If you have any question, please get in touch. Join us on Christmas morning for an easy paced 5km run. We will start, as always, with a warm up routine and then will run at approx 7.20 minutes per km pace. Enjoy the run, and be home in time for your dinner. We usually have a coffee and chat afterwards, but we will probably miss out on the coffee today. It's been another great year for the Group with new faces and old, all entering into the spirit of what the Group is all about. We will then hike Hickory Ridge, Ripple Rock, Overlook and Sugarbush trails to get approximately four miles total distance. We will walk approximately a 18 minute mile pace.
