The spacious open-plan bar is a welcoming setting for this social evening, with a dedicated mezzanine level reserved exclusively for Itâs a Date. For those continuing into the night, you are in the heart of Soho, so the opportunities are endless!
Our host will be at the venue ready to welcome you at 19:30. Please arrive on time for registration, to grab any drinks from the bar, and receive a summary of how things will work. You will be given an optional name sticker, a pen, and a note card to keep track of everyone youâve met.
Ladies will be seated on tables adequately spaced, discreetly numbered, and arranged in a comfortable area of the venue. 9th Anniversary Foundation Drinks & Dinner (06.03.26)
As required by M&P the venue, so that we can give them final numbers, this meetup is now 'closed.'
But we look forward to seeing folks next month for drinks at Comptons Thurs 4th Apr (full details: [https://www.meetup.com/london-gay-dads-meetup/events/312391447/](https://www.meetup.com/london-gay-dads-meetup/events/312391447/))
***
**Join for the 9th Annual Dinner!**
M&P serve sensibly-priced delicious authentic Italian meals. Usually nice service too. The groupâs size means as usual itâll be their Large Group Seasonal Set Menu; while thatâs pretty comprehensive, obviously it wonât include everything a la carte at [https://www.meleepere.co.uk/menus](https://www.meleepere.co.uk/menus), but if interested you get the idea there.
As always, LGDM meets are 'fam-friendly' and +1s are very welcome.
This year instead of a deposit, we're asking that in addition to RSPV-ing here on Meetup, you make a note to 'consciously' reconfirm a week beforehand (or otherwise go back into Meetup and decline!) your RSVP, that'd be on Sat 28th Feb, IF YOU RSVP 'Yes' and then NO SHOW even after this 28th Feb 'reconfirm', WE WILL BE CHARGED for you & you will be found to be in the Bad Boy Books!
(We will of course send a reminder by email and WA in good time.)
This is how Mere e Pele describe themselves:
*"We are three brothers ... on a journey to create a genuine neighbourhood Trattoria reminiscent of the fabulous family-run places of northern Italy where we all grew up... We cook our seasonal menu with British produce and exceptional Italian ingredients. All of our pasta, pizza, desserts and ice-creams are made in our kitchen fresh every day and we prove our pizza dough for over 48 hours. Gluten free pasta is also available and we have plenty of vegan options too."*
Book Club Meeting - Spirituality Before Religions by Prof Kaba Hiawatha Kamen
**Association of Black Humanists Book Club Meeting**
We are delighted to invite members to our next Book Club gathering, where weâll be discussing ***Spirituality Before Religions: Unseen Science and Seen Spirituality*** by **Prof. Kaba Hiawatha Kamene**.
This book challenges us to explore African-centred understandings of spirituality, science, consciousness, and human meaning. Itâs a powerful invitation to interrogate what spirituality can look like outside dogmaâand what it has meant for Black people historically and today. As Black humanists, this conversation sits right at the intersection of culture, reason, history, and liberation. Expect a rich, respectful discussion, critical reflection, and space for diverse perspectives.
The book confronts one of the most enduring legacies of colonial domination: the erasure and distortion of African knowledge systems. Long before imposed religions, our ancestors engaged deeply with science, consciousness, spirituality, and the natural worldâwithout dogma, without fear, and without submission.
Date: Saturday, 7th March 2026

Singles Sunday Park Walk | Ages 30 to 45
BOOK YOUR TICKET đđŒ [HERE](https://itsadate.club/event/sunday-park-walk-26/).
Connecting with potential partners is a walk in the park when youâre doing something you love! If youâre active, enjoy a good social scene, and are into the outdoors, join us with 30 single guests for a 6.5 km walk around the Regents Park and Primrose Hill Circular. Switch scrolling for strolling during this wholesome morning, which includes a hosted walk, coffee (or tea), and a homemade chocolate brownie.
Meet James, your host, outside Regents Bar and Kitchen in Regents Park Inner Circle and just a short walk from Baker Street Station. After a stroll around Queen Maryâs Garden, we will continue through Marylebone Green and the English Gardens of Regentâs Park. Weâll then head north, crossing Regents Canal via the Monkey Gate, and make our way up to the viewpoint at Primrose Hill. Here, weâll stop for coffee and homemade browniesâa great opportunity to socialise more widely with the group and get to know as many people as possible. If the weather isnât kind to us, weâll take refuge in a nearby cafĂ© around Primrose Hill.
After this short interlude, we will continue clockwise on the circuit, re-joining The Board Walk in Regents Park as we pass London Zoo, and then return to Marylebone Green, where weâll conclude at the Japanese Garden.
This is a super-relaxed morning walk and a fantastic opportunity to meet a fun bunch of people while getting your steps in along the way. After the walk, the usual post-event matching and messaging will be available on your Itâs a Date dashboard. Alternatively, there are plenty of nearby trails and cosy Marylebone pubs to extend your date with newfound connections.
If you have any questions about the event or how things will work, please get in touch with James at 07517 065492 or james@itsadate.club.
THEATRE DOUBLE BILL - Tell Me Straight / Aggy
**Park Theatre presents a double bill of two queer plays "Tell Me Straight" and "Aggy".** You will need to buy your tickets in advance from the [Park Theatre website](https://parktheatre.co.uk/) - ÂŁ32 for a combined ticket for both plays. I will be there from 1800 - the Park Theatre has a decent bar and pizza offering.
**Tell Me Straight** (first on the bill at 1900) - Following sold-out runs at The Kingâs Head and Chiswick Playhouse, Paul Bradshawâs multi award-winning debut play is back!
Himâs long line of hookups have one thing in common; theyâre all straight. Best friend Dani thinks he needs to fix up and finally find âa gay man who actually likes gay men!â But straight guys are like busesâŠ
A 30-day detox is just what he needs â no booze, no fast food and no men! Buuuuut will distractions in the form of wide-eyed Lee, fuck boy Ryan and oldest friend Matt prove to be derailing? Or will Him finally change his ways and see what is right in front of him?
Followed by **Aggy** at 2045 - Lawrence and Mahlik have been together for a year. Itâs going pretty well on all accounts. So when Mahlikâs contract is up at his flat, itâs only logical that they move in together.
After a particularly tough rejection, Mahlik makes a risky suggestion for Lawrenceâs next project, proposing that Lawrence present as an alter ego to secure more opportunities. As success starts to roll in, this fabricated persona leaves the couple facing uncomfortable truths neither of them can ignore.
aggy is a bold one-act play exploring privilege, gender, race and creativity. Itâs about art and who gets to make it. The play unflinchingly examines how people freely police one another, and how this can lead to destruction.

Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association:
They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other churchâstate issues in public schools. The presentation will cover SEAâs early wins and hard lessons, what weâre seeing nationally right now, and how local advocates can play a meaningful role in protecting public education. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the landscape â and practical ways to get involved.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online

COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above.
There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/).
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers.
For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
Raising Conscious Kids â A Unity Family Experience
At Unity of Columbus, our Youth and Family Ministry nurtures the spiritual growth of children and families through love, joy, and practical spiritual teachings. Each Sunday, children explore timeless spiritual principles through stories, creative activities, music, and group sharing in a safe and welcoming environment.
Our program encourages children to discover their own inner light, express kindness, and develop a personal connection with God. Together, we celebrate diversity, cultivate understanding, and inspire each child to live with purpose and compassion. Parents and families are invited to join in this uplifting journey of learning, laughter, and spiritual connection.
Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup (2nd Tues)
Jimmy V's Grill & Pub in Grandview Heights. You are responsible for your own meal/drinks. We usually don't have any agenda other than eat, drink and talk. :) If the weather is nice we will be on the back patio, otherwise we are in the cigar room.
This group has been meeting every Tuesday evening for over a decade. Many attendees do not RSVP on meetup. Please don't let the small number here discourage you. Anyone/everyone is welcome to come. We'd love to have you join us.
COTA bus #5 comes to W. 5th and Wyandotte Rd. And it's a minute walk to the restaurant.
