KUMIKO LAMP
KUMIKO LAMP
**Bookable via our website ➡️** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/kumiko-coasters-56/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/kumiko-coasters-56/) **⋆⋆⋆** **Course:** Intro to Japanese Joinery – Kumiko Woodwork Lamp **Suitable for:** Absolute beginners. No prior experience in woodworking is required for this course. **About:** This evening course shows you the basics of setting out and cutting the traditional Kumiko woodwork designs to create a lamp. If you haven’t already discovered the Japanese wood craft of Kumiko, you are in for a treat. Kumiko is a technique that uses no nails or hardware, just precise joints to keep furniture and even houses together. It is intricate and functional and a lot of fun to make. Using a small tool set and simple techniques this quiet craft can yield some spectacular pieces. The traditional handicraft has been handed down for centuries but now artisans are taking the age-old concept and applying the designs to more modern-day household items. This is an ideal follow up workshop from the Kumiko coaster one day workshop which introduces you to the basics of setting out and cutting the traditional designs. It is also suitable for confident beginners. The Kumiko lamp uses traditional Japanese tools. The outer frame is created in walnut and the mini Kumiko screen is composed of cleverly cut bass wood to form a modern version of an ancient *Ijutsu* design. The small pieces are cut using an accurate shooting board and a sharp hand plane, then slid into place and backed with *Shoji* paper. The designs for *Kumiko* pieces aren’t chosen randomly. In fact, many of the nearly 200 patterns used today have been around since the Edo era (1603-1868). Each design has a meaning or is mimicking a pattern in nature that is thought to be a good omen. The designs are not just pretty, they also distribute light and wind in a calming and beautiful way. It may look complicated but in reality, like all woodwork – it’s just a series of steps. Give it a try – you may do better than you expect. Auram Desforges, who grew up working on wood frame houses with his father in Canada has devised this elegant lamp. This course is held over 6 evenings and is particularly suitable for those who have completed the one day [Kumiko coaster](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/kumiko-coasters/) workshop. The use of all tools, materials and LED tea light is included. The dimensions of the finished lamp is 132mmH x 132mmD x 132mmW.

Uncapping Your Magic - Online & By Donation
Uncapping Your Magic - Online & By Donation
“True magic is materialisation. For any other form of magic, it's a varying degree of illusion.” This sacred Land Tantra field and ceremony is an opportunity to participate in sacred magical activism and ceremonial service to Mother Gaia. A joyful magical activism process of repairing the sacred nerve pathway of materialisation - after the Age of Illusion/Separation that we have collectively lived through. This is a journey of clearing the passage of trust between the heart and the root, so that it is easier and simpler to live the magic of materialisation. Together we will immerse in the destiny-coded vibrations that Iceland re-verberates with, so that we can root more deeply into the magnetic love of the Earth, as we learn to attune our inner system to love and potential. We will receive daily channeled transmissions to help repair and restore the re-turn of the process of materialisation between the heart and the root chakras, so that on the 7/7 ceremony we can transmit this in the land, to assist Gaia in the system shift of moving from separation into illumination. Your part of the ceremony can be transmitted from wherever you are in the world, whatever we give in ceremony to the land, the land gives back to us. For that which we do in service, we do in symbiosis. The Age of Illusion, the Age of Separation, caused this trust pathway within humanity to be severed and damaged. This is a light chamber, soul-coded vibration, nerve and inner passage repair. A sacred initiation of the electromagnetic pathway within the self, within the collective, and within the land, so that our hearts can materialise more easily, turning love into form, as life informs our hearts. This is the simplicity of electromagnetic plasticity. Those called to be part of this field will receive sacred Land Tantra activations recorded from the powerful waterfalls, volcanoes, valleys and soul portals of Iceland. This repair happens through transmissions from the elements and the elementals that are masters of trusting and materialising. The daily, channeled transmissions include healings, light chambers, energy mechanics, teachings, atonements and attunements to fully restore the materialisation nerve within the self, so that you can be a conduit for the collective correction that is happening on the 7th. And most importantly, trust into your true magic of materialisation. Here are the titles of the live sessions: Attuning to the Community The Nerve of Trust Atonement Destiny codes Uncapping Our Magic Ceremony This ceremony is overlighted by the Rainbow Grandmothers, supported by the Elementals and the Nature Goddess of Creation. The sacred service work is by donation. Donate afterwards whatever feels right in your heart. And please do strengthen this field by inviting Soul Star family to gather and co -create this beautiful and important Land Tantra ceremony. So much love and true Magic to you all x REGISTER HERE: [https://www.starlight-temple.com/event-details/uncapping-your-magic-online-by-donation](https://www.starlight-temple.com/event-details/uncapping-your-magic-online-by-donation)

Friendly Chess in Russell Square
Friendly Chess in Russell Square
A laid-back lunchtime of friendly chess in the charming surroundings of Russell Square, Bloomsbury (or in The Atrium Cafe of The Imperial Hotel across the road, if it rains). Whether you're new in town and looking to meet new people, craving some social games, or live/work/study nearby, all are welcome. Chess sets are available to borrow, and there are optional food/drinks from the cafe next to the chess tables. Please don't bring outside food/drinks (other than water), and buy something if you use a cafe table (no need when using the chess tables, which have boards printed on them). This will be a hosted event - if you're the first to arrive, you'll see your host sitting at one of the chess tables with a chess set. Feel free to write in the event to confirm you're going and encourage others to come along. Most of those attending are from other social media groups, so numbers are usually higher than they appear here. Have fun! :)
