The first part of the hike is flat, taking you through streams and abandoned orchards of the indigenous dwellers. The trail can be slippery, with leaves and foliage covering mossy rocks and an uneven path. You can hear the murmur of the flowing stream and the gushing waters of the Batu Berangkai rapids. Upon reaching an intersection, stay to the right and cross the main stream, which may be waist-height during the rainy season. After passing the Orang Asli hut checkpoint, the trail becomes steep. Be prepared to climb and scamper on boulders, ropes, roots, and fallen trees. Watch out for two huge holes and listen for the echos of nature's orchestra, including Siamang monkeys, tropical cicadas, birds, and bees. Upon arriving at a giant boulder, you will hike to reach the peak of Gunung Relau. You will also see mysterious boxes of ammo from World War II, which adds to the hike's historical charm **Gunung Relau 子弹山 + Gunung Bujang Melaka - 光棍山 Hike** Altitude : 0951m / 3120ft - Gunung Relau / Cannon Hill Altitude : 1233m / 3120ft - Gunung Bujang Melaka EG : 1750m +/- Distance : 11km/way or 22km/return +- Duration : 10-14 Hours (including Resting & Photo Shooting) Level : 7/10 Moderate to hard **THIS IS NOT BEGINNER HIKE!!** You need to have a good fitness level (exercise regularly) and relevant trekking experience to sign up for this hike. **⚠⚠⚠** In order to maximize the fun of mountaineering, all participants must have a clear understanding of the nature and characteristics of the mountains, their own physical fitness and health, and all injuries must be borne by themselves. **NOTES:** 1\. Join us again this Saturday for drinks and sweets at this delicious Vegan co-op bakery. Mingle with likeminded Columbus Vegans. We will aim to sit outside after purchasing items and hopefully taking in cooperative weather. Special note on parking: Please try to park along Acton, Richards and/or Chatham streets so as to free up the lot at the back of the building for pick-up orders. Thank you. 😊 Patty Cake offers everything from cupcakes, cookies, cakes, muffins, whoopie pies, as well as gluten free goodies. They also have coffee, oat milk and cold brew
