Advanced Jiu-Jitsu (no gi) at One Spirit Martial Arts in Herndon
This **no gi class** focuses on **advanced [Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_jiu-jitsu) concepts**, including takedowns, positional drilling, submissions, transitions, situational sparring, strategy development, and live training.
While the class is scheduled for **90 minutes**, it may run longer depending on content and participation.
This class includes both instruction as well as [rolling](https://www.howbjjworks.com/bjj-blog/2018/7/29/how-rolling-works-in-bjj) (sparring).
The **drop-in fee** for non-members is **$20**, payable on-site.
**Note:** We are located in **Suite #130**.
Mindful Movement and Flow
Mindful movement and flow: This class is a slower moving, strengthening and balance building practice based on mindfulness. We will bring our intentions to the awareness of our bodies and our breath in movement or in longer held poses. We will explore different breathing techniques that help clear out physical, emotional or mental energies allowing a sense of peace within.
The session is offered InStudio and OnLine. The Zoom link for the OnLine session will be emailed 15 minutes before class starts to those who are registered at www.piesfitnessyoga.com. **Sign up for sessions must be made at least 2 hours prior to class.**

Shut Up & WriteÂŽ - Gaithersburg
Come by for an hour of evening writing with fellow creative folks. Everyone works on their own thing, no obligation to share â just show up and make any kind of words happen. If you're spending too much time thinking about writing, join us for an hour of focused writing.
Guidelines:
* While some discussion is encouraged to get to know one another, strive for silent, focused writing from 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM.
* Generally avoid disruptive sensory input/behaviors, such as repeated or unpleasant noises, smells, physical movements, etc.
(if you have health-related reasons, or some other aspect out of your control due to which this could become an issue, show up anyway and explain that potential disruptions are not intentional.)
* Repeated breaking of the above rules without a valid reason may result in dismissal from the group at any point during a session.

Chronic Illness Board Games Meetup
Come to the Silver Spring library to play games some chronically ill friends! Members are adults who suffer from conditions including POTS, ME/CFS, long covid, MCAS, rheumatoid arthritis, Ehlers Danlos, multiple sclerosis, ulcerative colitis, autoimmune kidney disease, and more. We usually play a couple casual games, and we also have coloring books. Feel free to bring your own favorite games too!
We'll in SMALL ROOM 2 on the third floor of the Silver Spring library, just outside the elevator. We ask that everyone wears a mask.
There is parking across the street in the Wayne Avenue Garage.
Quad Roll: Teahouse & Sakura Skate
Join us for our Spring Quad Rollout featuring a quintessential DC experience with a route designed for Quad and beginner inline skaters!
The highlight of this route is the roll through East Potomac Park and 4 miles of thousands of blooming Yoshino ćĄ cherry trees at peak blossom.
Good format for beginners to street skating: not too many hills, and more good pavement than bad, 7 miles total. We will start at World War I Memorial, hit the 15th street bikeway, roll through the Moongate Garden, climb the stairs to take in the vista at L'Enfant, Hains Point cherry tree loop, regroup at the circle at Maryland Avenue Park.
Then the skate ends at a tea house: Teaism!
Dress in theme: blossoms or pink.

Dupont Circle First Friday ArtWalk
Join us on what looks to be a beautiful spring evening for the monthly Dupont ArtWalk.
Weâll start at Hillyer in the alley behind the Phillips Collection as they celebrate the opening of the new exhibition *Modern Movements* organized in partnership with the Art Museum of the Americas â one of my favorite museums in DC. The exhibition will be on view during the months of April and May and will be held in all three galleries.
From there (around 6:20) weâll head to Studio Gallery and then the wonderful new Vika where Ram BrisueĂąo, a Baltimore- based, self-taught collagist, opens his show. (Thatâs his artwork above.) His collage paintings use flowers blooming from, out of, and surrounding human figures to represent a halo-like presence of our best selves.
From there weâll have a choice between the Korean Cultural Center, The Washington Hilton, Dupont Underground and the Middle East Institute. We will be walking a bit but the weather should be nice for it.

Short North Street Skate | Weekly Rollout
Short North Street Skates return Saturday, April 4 and weâre excited to get back rolling together.
These weekly rollouts are a chance to move through the city as a group, build community, and create more visibility for skating and small-wheeled movement in Columbus.

Weâll be skating through the Short North and surrounding areas at a steady, social pace. Routes will use a mix of streets and bike lanes, so comfort navigating the city is helpful, but you donât need to be an expert.
