Join us for the second Funny Farm comedy show of the year. Catch a hilarious line-up of comedians from DC and beyond at Edgewood Community Farm, a volunteer run garden and venue in northeast DC, a few minutes off the red line metro. JxJ, the DC Jewish Film and Music Festival does an excellent job of scheduling interesting films, conversations and receptions. This documentary film short looks particularly absorbing and very cool that Regina Spektor will be there to discuss. (It now says her husband will appear instead. We will be providing supplies for various arts and crafts, but feel free to bring your own project or supplies as well! **Registration is now OPEN for the Washington Spring Ball on Saturday, May 16th, 2026!** Come join us for a fabulous time! Doors open at 7:00 pm, dancing starts at 7:30. The Washington Spring Ball is a joyful yearly event of English Country Dancing to glorious music. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The band for the ball this year will be **Karen Axelrod** (keyboard), **Audrey Jaber** (violin), and **Miranda Weinberg** (violin) We have a practice session the day of the ball, where most of the dances will be taught. Attending the practice session is strongly encouraged but not required. In the evening at the ball, all dances will be briefed (talked-through) and then prompted for the first few rounds. Dancers wear what makes them feel happy and festive; some choose attire from the 18th or 19th century. Afternoon practice session from 2:00 - 5:00 pm on the day of the ball, at the Civic Building , which is included in the admission fee. The practice session will be called by Anna Rain with music by Liz Donaldson on piano and Elke Baker on fiddle. The show starts at 6:30pm. We will gather at 6pm. Feel free to bring food from home to enjoy during the show or pick up food from one of the vegan friendly businesses in Downtown Crown such as &Pizza, Mezeh, The Crepe Shoppe, and Spice Life. Ben Mauger's Vintage Jazz Band brings hot swing to the DC area - come on out and don't forget your dancing shoes! The PRJC welcomes back a club favorite - trumpet and cornet virtuoso Ben Mauger, who has been pleasing audiences performing throughout the East Coast for over 25 years. His Pennsylvania based Vintage Jazz Band brings a program featuring a mix of classics from Louis Armstrong, Bix Biederbecke and hot trad jazz swing. Known for their energetic take on hot-jazz, Dixieland, and swing-from roaring '20s dance numbers to classic "Saints"-style tunes-this band delivers toe-tapping music and vibrant nostalgia. It'll be an afternoon of bright horns, swinging rhythms, and plenty of party-ready energy-and though Mother's Day will have passed, it's still a perfect way to celebrate our beloved Moms. This year.
